Warning! There are three Hacienda Buenaventura hotels in PVR. This one is just HB, there is also HB Grand and HB Premier. Imagine my surprise, after reading the reviews, to stay at this hotel. The good, the bad and the ugly. 1. The hotel is clean, very clean. They work hard to maintain that. 2. We were assigned a room on the fourth floor. The hotel does NOT have an elevator. We are old, overweight, have knee problems and it was hot. 3. We had difficulty connecting to WIFI in our room. No problem in the lobby or poolside. 4. Other than the room, everything is open. The lobby and buffet. The birds were very entertaining cleaning the discarded plates. 5. There is not any direct beach access. In fact, you have to leave the hotel, walk about two blocks through a seedy part of town and look carefully for the sign. No clear water. 6. This seems to be a hotel that caters to Spanish speakers. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Only one exception. Very few of the staff, spoke English well. Understandable, since I am in Mexico, but be aware that if you are not fluent, there will be things you can't understand the answers to or ask for. 7. The hotel is wonderfully quiet. The pool shuts down at 8 p.m. every night. 8. Grocery store next door. Walmart a few blocks away. 9. Wonderful hot water. 10. Great pressure in the shower, but not the toilet. Do not recommend if you have the Turista Trot because you have to hold the handle down a long time (5/6 seconds) and then you still have no guarantees that will be enough. Could be that we were on the 4th floor?? 11. Nice walk-in closet. 12. Could not figure out the safe in the room. There was no keypad or lock. (See above, not fluent in language.) 13. Huge room with a king-sized bed and a balcony. 14. No key cards, an actual key on a chain. Only one given. 15. Nice pool. 16. Most importantly, could not get coffee before 7 a.m. No coffee maker in room. LOL!…
got stuck here by Delta airlines when my flight was cancelled - nightmare of a bathroom, room and food. Just don't... toilet seat falling off, sink didn't drain, the sink faucet barely functioned and literally had tape or paint or something designating hot and cold. The floor looked nasty
Terrible customer service, thin walls you can hear everything, restaurants have horrible service- food is bland, beach is not walking distance, pool closes early, stay at a better hotel this is a motel
Great place, feels like your in Mexico. We will recommend the Hotel to anyone wishing to get the real feel of being in Mexico. The staff was very friendly and hospitable, all of the amenities were great, our room was kept very clean every day and we felt very safe. I loved having a balcony overlooking the pool and beautiful landscaping. Location is very good, between the airport (7 minutes) and downtown (5 minutes)! Easy access to the beach. Definitely recommend to go. Maryam & Kaveh
Great place to stay, in the middle of everything. We will be returning again and again. The service was fantastic and the food was awesome. Beach was close to the hotel and they had a shuttle to take you and bring you back.
Dirty hallways, horrible wifi and subpar food. Servers pool side was the best part of the hotel. They are busy but very attentive to everyone. The landscaping inside is beautiful. From the outside you would not know it was a hotel. Not worth the money.
Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel & Mexican Charm Puerto Vallarta was a good all inclusive hotel for it's price range. The location is great, just a 5 minute taxi ride from the airport, if I remember correctly it was 120 pesos. Our room was roomy, and comfortable, it could of been a bit cleaner especially the bathroom side of things and the floors. Not too lound and short walk or shuttle ride to the beach. Lots of merchants trying to sell you things on the beach and food and drink are limited from the hotel side. When I went, food section was empty and service wasn't great. But at the hotel, at the pool area that was a whole different story, the service was EXCEPTIONAL!! Angeles and Cecar were the BEST servers we've ever had. (And I say that cause we've stayed in other all inclusive in past) They didn't miss a beat, they were efficient, friendly and always offering service with a smile. Honestly, they were the best part of our stay. I cannot wait for them to be able to remove their covid masks to see their friendly faces. All the staff was very friendly. The pool area was nice but they can use new pool towels, many were stained and ragged. This is definitely a family resort. The food was ok, but not to much of a selection so if you're a picky eater, might be tough. Cute little resort! A con would be that the WiFi is horrible, don't plan on getting much work done if you require WiFi, very unstable. Certain times and areas were better but that did make it challenging for us. We were in PV for 10 nights and had beautiful weather every day, (approx 30° +) 🌴😎🍹 end of April 2022 We had a fun & relaxing girls getaway! Pros: Budget friendly, Family friendly and great service Cons: A little outdated, can use some updating. Poor WiFi and rooms can be cleaned better during the stay. Hotel not right on a beach, the beach is located a road down, short 5-8 minute walk, the hotel offers a beach shuttle.…
This place is a great little resort. The food was amazing, every meal we had was so good. Angelas at the pool was very attentive. Every employees was amazing. I wish I remembered all their names! We will be back in August and I will get everyone’s names to give shout outs to. Great time!
This was our first time at an all-inclusive resort and our first time in Mexico and it could not have been a better experience! The staff was very friendly and hospitable, all of the amenities were great, our room was kept very clean every day and we felt very safe. I loved having a balcony overlooking the pool and did not feel like the noise level was an issue at night, especially if you close your door as there was A/C in our room. After reading several reviews we did get a little worried but realized that those negative reviews probably came from individuals who were looking for a different experience. This hotel seemed very family friendly and if you're not ok with noise you should go somewhere else. And even though the resort is not directly on the beach, its less than a 5 min walk and if you get there between 10am-12pm you're likely to get a chair and umbrella. I would highly recommend Hacienda Buenaventura and would definitely book another vacation here!…
The food was terrible. It made me sick most of my trip and sick once I got home. The staff was friendly especially the servers in the restaraunt. Check in was over 45 minutes late. The housekeepers didn’t replenish towels, soap or Anything unless asked. I’d never stay here again nor would I recommend them to my worst enemy.
