Realtors advertise Location! Location! Location! and the Hotel Belmar has it! It is the oldest beach hotel in Mazatlan, located in the old historic district. I'm not sure how many stars the Belmar would have, it is old, worn around the edges, and badly needs upgrading. That said, the location can't be beat, the staff are friendly and helpful, Alicia...

I love staying in historic old hotels with lots of character. This was to be our last night in Mexico before flying back to LAX. I chose this hotel for its location and history, but I didn't expect it to be in this bad of shape. Consider this place a shipwreck on the beach, it should be towed out to...

I recently visited the Belmar Hotel in Mazatlan. I had read some stories about it being a real jewel back in the 40s and 50s. It was a place where Hollywood greats hung out like John Wayne. It's also reputed to be haunted which is the reason I had to go see. We stopped by about midday and they were...

The hotel has been around since the late 1800 and much has not changed, but it is in the process of a remodel. So far only paint has been done but the owner told me that the whole hotel will be brought up to modern standard. As for location, you could not ask for anything better. You could throw a...

My wife and I have been staying at the Bel-Mar since probably1992 or before. We've made some pretty good friends either working in the hotel {Niko, Alicia] or surrounding business's. Fonda Santa Clara is a couple doors down and the staff is alot like the Bel-Mar. Always wearing a smile and always there to serve. When we return, I'm always...

Updated prices for rooms are: Inside, courtyard view 450 pesos per night, ocean view 550 pesos per night. There are a lot of nicer hotels for a lot less money. The staff are its biggest asset and were great.

I first stayed at Hotel Belmar in November 2007, and returned 10 times over the course of three years. The Belmar is not for everybody - but if you want a unique location, with a funky vibe and amazing prices - you should check it out. It is NOT the Marriott, and maybe not even a three-star place... but the...

Best location in Mazatlan! Right on Olas Altas, across from the ocean, and within easy walking distance of Plazuela Machada (the heart of Mazatlan), the central mercado, Angela Peralta Theatre, and all the center of town has to offer. The rooms are clean and comfortable - not fancy - and the staff is fabulous, friendly and helpful. The swimming pool...

“For 200 pesos a night, they are all good!”

“the ocean view is fantastic (on the 5th floor) but it is noisy”
of 5 bubbles brinlois, 23 Apr 2015 | Read review
“Ground floor; around pool, saloon, and lobby; can be high-traffic and noisy, but is within easy staggering distance of the bar if that's your thing. Wireless Internet has been installed at the Belmar, but curiously isn't advertised, or even admitted to if you ask, but coverage is spotty. Ocean-front rooms don't have it, interior rooms may, but a good connection seems to be available in the seating area in front of the elevators on every floor.”

“When you reserve, ask for patio rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors.”

“Patio rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors are the best. The ocean rooms with balconies are older and can be noisy but some people really like them.”
