Upon arrival we were very impressed with the resort, we have visited many resorts all over Mexico and this one is one of the most beautiful, we upgraded to Premium and our view is amazing. It is not overly busy but I think understaffed so...More
In 2014 I said that this resort was the best all-inclusive of the 18 I had attended. After visiting some more I rate it the best of the 22 I have visited. Stayed three weeks this time and had a great time again. The staff...More

Dear Dave C;
Thank you for the time you spent to share your feedback on your recent stay at our Barceló Karmina, to be considered as one of the best 22 hotels you stayed at is certainly high praise.

We have done a lot of travel over the years, and the Barcelo Karmina palace has definitely won the award for the worst food category. Food is cold, and repetitive. The beef prepared for today I am sure is the beef for the next two...More

The premium package is per guest and per day, not per room. The room is the best part of the package, spacious beautiful bathroom. You also will get a whole wine bottle per day. In room, a small Tequila bottle. You will get the opportunity to reserve a dinner table at any of the three mayor restaurants they have. They also have a seperate launch area for premium guest, but it is not a big deal.
But, to be honest with you, the package is not worth it. Most of the people there did not get the package. You can really enjoy your time there with your family without it. The rooms without the package are beautiful and fine. You can still eat at the mayor restaurants without the package, JUST MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE ALL YOUR DINNER TIMES AT CHECK IN!!! All restaurants and time slots for dinner were booked on our second day there, for the rest of our stay. Even with our premium package we ended up eating in our room. Make sure you ask every question posible before accepting any charge and confirm with them everything they tell you at check in.
Please read my "honest and true review" from the reviews. It is a beautiful Resort, I plan on returning but there were a lot of things that made it unpleasant.
By the way, you are going on the perfect time of the year!

In Barceló Karmina we have three a la carte restaurants, Mexican, Italian and Japanese, which are already included in our package, it is only necessary to make a prior reservation with our concierge.
The Mexican restaurant "Agave", is the favorite of our guests, is located on a cliff and has a panoramic view of the entire bay of Manzanillo. It is also distinguished by dishes such as; Cream of oyster, Tampiqueña, Enchiladas and delicious desserts.
On the other hand we have our Italian restaurant "Capri" this is located in the center of our pool area, surrounded by tropical gardens and its cuisine are distinguished; the veal ravioli, lasagna and finally a tiramisu and a gelato from the house.
Last but not least, we have our restaurant "Kyoto" in which we have Japanese dishes like makis, misso soup, golden with teriyaki sauce and some delicious desserts such as snow Bayles with white chocolate and tempura with vanilla ice cream.
We look forward to welcoming you very soon. Best regards, Guest Experience Manager.
