I travelled to this resort in March of 2014. I am writing this review 2 1/2 years later so details aren't totally clear in my head. I had a good experience overall . At the time, I was 38 years old, travelling alone and just looking to relax. It was a huge resort, not easily accessible unless you rode in...

I visited as part of a group of 600 people. We took up a large chunk of the lodging, with all-inclusive food plan. I was blown away by the level of friendly service and the large, modern, comfy rooms. The quality of the shower (Fantastic) mattered to me as the temps were in the high nineties. The layout is sprawling...

Hi. They will accommodate upgrades if available. I had a special request as well for our trip. I emailed the resort and also called them directly. I suggest that you contact the resort and make them aware of your request for an upgrade. Enjoy your vacation!!

Hi! Sorry I didn't respond sooner, my email had changed and this is the first time I've been in Trip Advisor since last fall. The resort is large, and split into little "communities". The Mar is set for on a bluff overlooking the ocean, as is the Cloud section where we were. I think every room in those section have an ocean view, just not all with balconies. The Mar section is more VIP with better wifi (the lobby connection is spotty at best).

Hope this helps, I'll be more prompt if you have more questions.

Oh goodness yes. Huatulco is VERY safe. I'd have zero hesitation about traveling there as a single woman. It's probably safer than where I live! LOL. Of course, all normal precautions apply, same as if you were traveling alone anywhere in the US. Please, go and enjoy and don't have a moment's hesitation about safety. You will see that as soon as you arrive.

This is not built like a large hotel. The layout is several buildings that are long and only have two levels. The buildings are built into the hillside so they are all a bit different looking.
