Stayed at Hotel Lucerna for 3 nights. Got a double bed room on their topmost floor (8th) overlooking Juarez (south views).

The good:

- Rooms were spacious.
- Kind of clean.
- Free parking.

The bad:

- Pool is cold, as in ice water cold, this was beginning of september and the

The receptionist both very rude! We asked for 2 double bed on reservation we got a king hard bed! They made our party stay in 2 separate rooms and different floors we paid double. A/c would not adjust and was soooo hot! Considering it being Juarez that hotel needs to be at max $3

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay here. The rooms were outdated, the beds are not comfortable, the pillows are old and uncomfortable. Very old air conditioner system with air that made us all sick. The food of the restaurant was very bad, not up to the Lucerna bran

Juarez is not exactly a tourist mecca, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when staying here. I was most pleasantly surprised. While Juarez itself can be a pretty rough place, this hotel is situated in one of the safer areas, on a wide boulevard and generally more modern busine

Is this close to Mexican consult?
It is too far to walk to unless you really have a need. It is about 8 miles away I think.

Does the hotel have a guarded parking lot? Do the rooms have safes?
The parking lot isn't very big, and there's someone around, but not always, and no safes in room.

Do they charge a deposit when you check in? Or do you just pay the full amount?
They will pre authorize your credit card which is standard practice for any additional charges and when you leave they will cancel the authorization. Or you can pay for room on arrival and then say that you don't want to open an account to sign from the restaurant etc. - your choice.

Does the hotel have easy transportation to and from El Paso. Or is better to fly into Juarez?
Do you have good Internet access?

Is it easy to get from El Paso to your hotel? Is there a shuttle? Or is it better to fly in and out of Juarez? Is there a shuttle to the hotel from the air port in Juarez? Do you have a shuttle to US consulate and medical clinics? Can you help my husband with his Consulate processing by helping him get to and from his appointments and insuring good internet access and also by being a safe place for him to stay ? I would rather him not go out to much. Do your room have a mini fridge? Is your restaurant open 7 days a week for all 3 meals ?
I was actually there for a funeral and had driven into Juarez. Getting around seemed fairly easy, there were lots of buses, however maybe if you contacted the Consulate they may be able to help you with answering your questions as I was there on other business. Hope you find your answers

"I would opt for a room facing the pool. The other side faces a busy commercial avenue."
"Rooms have balconies, get a high floor for a nice view."
"The higher the floor, the better view. Have a drink in your balcony during sunset."
