I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip. The rooms are held simple and are a bit dated regarding furniture but everything is well maintained and cleanliness is very good. The breakfast is great and the restaurant and bar in the evening is also very good.
I stayed there just recently and wanted to point out that the staff was pretty attentive EXCEPT for Ricardo who works the front area/bellboy/entrance. He was very rude when I asked simple questions regarding taxis & location. Interrupted me several times before I could finish a sentence & had a bad attitude. He ran off to the front desk manager to save himself incase I complained and when i saw that, I had to approach. After explaining what happened and how I was treated to the front desk manager infront of Ricardo, Ricardo just stared at me. No remorse, no apology, nothing. Very rude! On the other hand, the manager was very apologetic & did a great job providing customer service. Food was good and beds were very comfortable.
I travel to Tijuana often and always stay at this hotel. After 4 years of visiting, I have never been disappointed. I would like to highlight that the staff at this hotel go above and beyond most other hotels, Specifically staff members like Antonio, who always offer a heartfelt fist bump at the bar and at breakfast, Raul who (after several years) still recognizes me every time i sit down at the restaurant. Alfredo who has a fantastic sense of humor, and Francisco, Yajaira and Renata at the front desk who have the patience of saints and clearly have very kinds hearts. In case you haven't been told this today, you're all doing a great job!
This hotel is in a nicer part of town. Classic business hotel, rooms are a bit dated. Keep in mind that with covid protocols.. - the lounge is closed (so don’t factor that into your choices) - for titanium elite members. they are offering some sort of free breakfast. Tried to use it, but the staff in the buffet didn’t know what that was, so I just paid for the breakfast. Also they offer some free drinks, but the bar was a 45 minute wait to get in, so I passed. Net net, you may be challenged using your benefits. With those details. It’s a solid choice. I would stay there again if aligned to a Marriott property. Couple other things.. - it’s a good 10 minute cab ride from the downtown area (which depending on your preference is a good thing) - there are a couple upscale bars (onyx) and restaurants around - there is a fairly large casino nearby if that’s your thi…
Great, friendly and helpful staff! They go out of their way to help. Some hotels are solid in one or two areas, but this one was great all the way around. The restaurant was outstanding and they knew my name and my breakfast order after the first time. If you only know a little Spanish, no problem. Most all of the employees know English well. My wife had surgery while we were there. The staff catered to her and made sure she was comfortable. They even went out and brought her soup from El Rodeo! The sight seeing tours are great too. Ask the guys downstairs to set up a tour with Fransisco! You won't be disappointed.
