Rooms are very clean but cheap. I had to keep my windows open all the time because the room had a very strong smell of diesel or paint thinner--I'm not sure. I only ate the breakfast that was included with the room, but it was less than ordinary. My main complaint is the location of the hotel--across the street from...

Cantamar is a supposedly a great resort for scuba divers. If you aren't going to dive, this place is not for you. The comments in other reviews about the front desk staff's lack of knowledge are typical and not exaggerated. No one at the desk seemed to provide accurate info. We booked a snorkling daytrip upon arrival at the hotel...

Cantamar is a great resort for scuba divers. They have their own diveboats and equipment. Divemaster Antonio is knowledgeable, careful and personable. Divemaster Marco lacks experience, careless and not safety conscious. Divemaster Jonathan is soft-spoken and knowledgeable but not as personable as Antonio. The boat captains Jorge and Noe are extremely skilled and friendly as well as fabulous cooks! Cantamar...

Diving with Club Cantamar in the Sea of Cortez was the best dive trip I’ve ever had. The warm water , abundant sea life and the pristine beauty of the LaPaz area gave me the sense of being in a National Geographic documentary. Our dive masters were very knowledgeable and went out of their way to show us ALL the...

We took a group of 21 divers down to Club Cantamar this past November. I must say it is some of the best diving we've ever done. Large pelagics, healthy reefs, large schools of fish, wrecks... La Paz has it all. Club Cantamar provided us with the most professional and competant dive staff anyone could hope for. The boat and...

If diving is your priority, then this place is probably fine. If you are looking for more of a "resort" type of experience, then this isn't the place. The service and amenities are few and far between. We were in La Paz for the Baja 1000 and ended up here because most other spots were full. The beach is small...

We took a group of 18 people to Club Cantamar October 21 throug October 28 this year, and we had 18 people 2/3 of the way through the trip ask us when, where, and how much would our next trip be! This is the second time Personalized Scuba has taken a group to Club Cantamar. The diving is incredible, and...

Club Cantamar Resort and Diving the Sea of Cortez. November 2006 The members of my dive club and I spent a fun week at Club Cantamar Nov 11-18. this is a long review, but comprehensive. GETTING THERE The flight down on United was quite pleasant and uneventful. Customs and immigration were a snap. We were met as promised at the...

I am a Scuba Instructor and am always looking for new destinations to take people diving. As such I look for the out of the way places that offer great diving. In September 2006 I visited Club Cantamar and found that they offered just what I was looking for, Sea Lions, Whale Sharks, Hammerheads, dolphins, great schools of fish and...

I've stayed at Cantamar twice and have had a wonderful time and will happily return any time I can. Cantamar is geared toward active people who will be out and about most of the day and probably tired fairly early. They cater to divers and other people who will be out on the ocean which usually means an early morning...
