Detailed Reviews
Eileen and Mike are lovely hosts. On arrival Eileen greeted us with Tea and her delicious home made scones. Her hearty breakfast kept us going all day, The room were lovely comfortable and clean. After a day trip to Kilkenny town where we were caught in a shower and on return they made up a log fire for us with tea and scones. If ever we are in this part of Ireland again we will definitely stay here again. Best B&B we have stayed in.

This stay was the highlight of our recent trip to Ireland. The only thing I would have done differently is to have stayed longer!
Eileen is a beautiful soul... inside and out. When we arrived, she had fresh baked scones & a homemade coffee cake... along with a pot of tea (all served on her beautiful China)! There were 2 other guests during our stay, and she made sure we all interacted. She was the most gracious and amazing host. The breakfast was divine, and so many things to choose from. The table was set to host a King & Queen! Thank you, Eileen, for your genuine hospitality. I hope our paths meet again someday. We left feeling like family. Tammy & Jim from Jax., FL.

We were late arriving, and the hostess could not have been kinder. She had tea homemade scones, and carrot cake ready on our arrival. Don’t expect updated accommodations. This house was built in 1760 and is on an active cattle farm. The home is full of antiques and could not be lovelier. We were served a full breakfast again with homemade pastries. I would recommend this location to anyone.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful B&B. My favorite on our entire trip. Eileen made us feel like we were home. She offered us tea and scones after we were settled in. Delicious! We had such a wonderful chat. This is a working farm and was very interesting to hear about. The breakfast table was set beautifully with lovely china. We were given options and everything was so tasty. Beautiful room and very comfortable and spacious as was the bathroom. 5 star all the way!

Stayed at the farmhouse one night while traveling with a group. Eileen is the best hostess and an outstanding cook. The farm has been in the family for generations.
The dinner was outstanding with "to die for" desserts. met her husband, son and grandson.
Visiting with Eileen gives one a real sense of Ireland and the people.

Eileen and Mike are two of the sweetest people in Ireland. We arrived on a dark, cold, rainy night after having gotten lost a few times. Eileen greeted us with a smile and offered a seat by the warm fire. While we warmed up and the rain dried off, Eileen was making tea and warm scones. I can't remember when the last time was that I had such a generous welcome. The house was immaculate. Our bedroom was a bit chilly, but the mattress warmer under the thick comforter fixed that -- such a thoughtful touch. Eileen had great suggestions for us on where to go and what to do. Mike is a humble quiet man of few words, and the perfect yin to Eileen's yang. The breakfasts were traditional and tasty. Fresh fruit, yogurt, scones, toast, eggs the way you like them, and all the other niceties of an Irish breakfast. I won't spoil it by telling everything. We had two nights there and it was a true delight. My husband and I highly recommend! Hopefully, some day we'll travel to Ireland again. If we do, we will surely spend a few night in Urlingford at Springview House.

I am a travel agent who specializes in Irish travel and am certified by Tourism Ireland as a Shamrock Club member. I have had the good fortune of visiting Ireland 19 times, and each time, there seems to be that one place or one person that stands out above the already mighty rest. At Springview I found both the one PLACE and the one PERSON. A simple 1 1/2 hr. direct drive from Dublin Airport, and you'll find yourself in the bucolic surroundings of Co. Kilkenny, and the quaint village of Urlingford. This farmhouse exudes warmth as you come up the drive and are greeted at the door by the lovely, Eileen Joyce. A fire will be lit, if one is not already, and tea and scones served fireside as you find yourself not suffering from the jet lag that you had feared. Because you are TRULY relaxed. Eileen offers stimulating conversation and commentary about the area. Above and beyond the call of duty, Eileen facilitated a meeting with a friend who lives in Urlingford and wasn't I surprised when she showed up for tea! The bedroom was inviting, spacious, and cozy. Excellent shower. And, lest I forget THE best breakfast I have ever had in Ireland. Absolutely delicious. Eileen doesn't just open her door, she opens her home and her heart. Do yourself a favor, and don't rush right out the door... a lot of what you come to Ireland for is to meet the wonderful people, and Eileen Joyce will not disappoint. This is a GREAT stopping point for those driving to Cork or Kerry as their final destination, since you'll likely not want to drive all that way from Dublin upon your arrival.

We wanted to stay in this B&B. Seeing the pictures in the Internet and in comparison with the price we thought to get the same standard as in the rest of Ireland. Instead the room was very dirty and cobwebbed everywhere. We found old beer mats and crown caps and a lot of dust under the beds. The towles in the bath room were still wet, not sure if they were changed. The lady was very nice and friendly and exused the situation with some problems with the water. But the cleanliness and comfort of the mattresses has nothing to do with an issues with the water. Obliging we could leave without paying.
