Booked a 3 person room for me, my wife and my 13 old son. De Rijp is a beautiful town and world heritage. We loved walking around with our dog and enjoy the old buildings.

The owner gave us a warm welcome. The old building is nicely restored with its original details, while the inside is modern and comfortable. Decoration is done to near perfection.

The bathroom is small but you have all you need. The bed comfortable, our son loved his own space on the mezzanine.

Breakfast was well prepared, with fresh orange juice, tasty selection of bread, cheese, ham etc. Eggs are prepared on order.

The only downside is the church bells only 100 yrds away. If you are a light sleeper you may be better of somewhere else. In summertime it may get hot in the top room, but since I was there in winter, we were ok.

All in all a great B&B.

My husband and I cannot tolerate gluten and cow's milk. This we told about as we booked our stay. The breakfast we got in the garden by the canal was the best we have ever got at any hotel!

The room was nice and quiet, and the view was lovely. We shall certainly come back. This was our second time to stay at B&B Het Pakhuys.

Beautiful B&B well located in center of The Rijp. All are new and have excellent beds and powerful showers. The hosts have created a well styled gem and really know how to take care of you. Definitely a place to come back to.

At first glance this appears to be a quaint bed and breakfast in a picturesque setting. Unfortunately the experience was spoiled by the the inn keeper who made it clear that our attitude should be one of thanks that we had the honor of staying in his inn, not one of service. The breakfast was tasty but unimaginative. The rooms were clean, but did not have screens on the windows - the inn keeper didn't care that it was hot and forbid us to open the windows because bugs would fly in. To top matters off, he did not honor the written price gaurantee that we were given when we booked. As nice is this "books cover" may seem, this surly, condescending, rip-off artist does not deserve your business!!

I'm visiting the Pakhuys on a regular basis. It is always a pleasure to be there. It starts with the interior design, goes on with the clean rooms, comfortable beds and the great breakfast. The cherry on top are the owners Arjan and Silvia!

This B&B is lovingly run by an ex-chef (if you can ever be an ex-chef) and his wife in a near faultless manner. Rooms are nice, good beds, good bathrooms, easy wifi and the breakfast is really good - the service and personal approach by the proprietors is excellent. At this price point (and well above it) I will struggle to have any issues - if you are staying in North Holland or are by car and don't mind the drive to Amsterdam this is the place.

This B&B surpassed all our expectations. Starting with flawless sparkling cleanliness and ending with great fresh breakfast (with their own yard chicken eggs).

The service is fantastic and the location is supreme. If you are looking for a perfect country side accomodation - look no further. But be prepared: they are a little pricey - but you will get a great value for your money.

Yes, very elegant indeed, however, we were a party of four in two rooms, neither of which had any doors to the on-suite toilet and shower. So, very loud whistling was required when going to the loo or asking our partner to find that they had some interesting reading to do in the sitting area on the ground floor. Before we were shown our rooms, two ‘toilets with doors’ were pointed out to us but we did not realise the implication until we had climbed two flights of stairs.
At least there was a luggage dumb waiter to take our cases up in the first place. The beds were comfortable to sleep in but our room had part-combed ceilings so one had to be careful not to hit one’s head on it or the cross beam. One other item to contend with was the Church clock next door that chimes on the hour and the hour. The half hour chimes being the same as the bell tolls at the next hour. The owner was born and brought up in the village and the church bells have long been a bone of contention for him and other visitors. But, the church is an historic monument so all attempts to change them, from civil persuasion to court action, have failed. Tea and Coffee makings were provided but we did not find any instructions for the Krups machine that we had not come across before. But then, we had come prepared and had our own ready at hand.
Breakfast was a delight, once outdoors and once indoors. The owners have bantam hens so fresh eggs to order were individually cooked as required. There was also the usual continental selection available of which the bread itself was very delicious, the fresh fruit varied and plentiful and the cooked meats and cheeses had plenty of taste.
So take your choice, given the lack of toilet and ablution privacy, we will not be returning (despite the breakfasts) but others have praised the whole experience highly.

This is the perfect place if you like it sleek and ultramodern inside the tried and true from 1613-- the house is beautiful. We stayed two nights on a cycle holiday in North Holland.

Rooms are spotless white-- even the ceiling beams-- with everything of the best and newest convenience. King size bed, minibar fridge, flat screen, shower (no bath), tea and coffee in our room, the first at top of modern stairs. The location is immediately by the church and bells sound the hours. Beautiful windows open to the lovely back terras for sitting and there you find the canal, plus hens for your morning egg!

The best highlight is Arjan at breakfast sharing info and making your eggs and coffees. Homemade jams and breads and his own yogurt follow your fresh eggs. Delicious cheese and fruit as well. Arjan teaches local cooking sessions so he loves foodies. Even the cups and spoons are chosen with care.

The village De Rijp is a real beauty, and if you walk the small lanes you can find a backyard miniature-- really a chicken coop-- designed as a real Dutch house about 1 meter tall. Thursday was a market day just next to the B&B with stalls of bread, meat, cheeses, fruit/vegetables, flowers and nuts.

One more hint-- just inside the front door stands a full-size black horse but he's only a lamp! You will love the charm of this B&B experience.

An upscale B&B with a staff that made our stay a most-pleasant experience. Everyone went out of their way to talk to us in English, unlike in other B&B's we've stayed at where the hosts talked, only, in their native language. The room was nicely appointed, complete with a wonderful Nespresso coffee maker and an assortment of coffees to choose from. The breakfasts were WONDERFUL, and always included fresh fruit, freshly-squeezed orange juice and the most flaky croissants I've ever eaten! Too, the village of De Rijp was beautiful, and the people, there, friendly.
