Staying at Antares Lodge was indeed a great experience. I really recommend it for a genuine jungle stay, far from Iquitos. What to expect? Good food, just a few hours of electricity per day (so get off the grid and live a little), absolute tranquility in a rainforest ambient, a place by the river full of dolphins, a morning chorus in the selva every day, lots of places to explore and a lot of time for chilling or introspection. As a wildlife photographer I opted for a lodge far from the city for the chance to see more animals - and it was perfect. And last but not least, the people were great! Thanks to the amazing staff that indeed felt like family, we had the best time. Without the patience of Daniel and his wife, Octavio and most importantly, Roosevelt (boatman and forest connoisseur), all this wouldn’t have been the same. Also thanking Alan, who made sure everything is in check, even at a distance. All in all, a not to be missed location, far up on the Maranon. (PS: don’t be afraid to visit in the rainy season, it’s beautiful)

Alan was absolutely fantastic through our entire Amazon experience! He was able to give guidance on the best excursions and he was so dedicated to making sure we enjoyed ourselves. He took all of our excursions nice and slow and made sure we saw all the wildlife we could! He was extremely knowledable about the history, culture, wildlife and was able to answer any questions we had. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone that might be on the fence about visiting the Amazon. It was truly the experience of a lifetime and we can ultimately thank Alan for this!

I went to the lodge in September 2019 and joined 5 days with the tour guide Guido who is very knowledgeable and funny. It was an overall great experience. The first day arriving to the lodge for some reason however, the taxi sailor dropped us at the village instead of the lodge and I was so hungry. But the people were helpful and took us there. I am a vegetarian but it seems like they don't know how to prepare vegetarian food and sometimes, they just give me raw veggies and rice. But after I told the tour guide who speaks English very well, he started cooking for me as well and they taste great! The jungle is full of excitement. The quicksand like mud, the birds, monkeys and plants all amazed me. Ruben the local jungle guide is very good at detecting animals from very far away. I love to ride on the river boat to watch the sunset, sunrise, gliding on the water. I also went to a very tall canopy walk and explored an abandoned hotel in the wood, swam with the children of the housekeeper of the lodge in the river, visited the village near by, experienced the South American weekend dance party, played volleyball together with locals and won, learnt how to craft some of their local handmade souvenirs and enjoyed the peace of all. Although I asked for laundry service in advanced, turns out it's only the housekeeping lady helping me washing my hands and some of my clothes has their colors partially faded. Maybe wash by yourself next time. They are all very nice people and it's a good experience! Perhaps they should add a light bulb in the toilet though, it's dark.

Thank you for sharing your great amazon experience at Amazon Antares Lodg with Guido who is a great guide and very good cook. The boat dropped you at the village because he didnt want to go inside the creek because he said to us it was too late for him to come back to Nauta city but we are working with another boat now We also want to apologize about our main cook, he is native from the village and he is becoming a chef but We already trained him to cook vegetarian food. The lady who washed your cloth is also native from the village that's why she didnt know how to use detergents but we also trained her how to use detergents. The bathrooms already have lights now and thank you very much for letting us know to get better and better our lodge.
