Our family of five absolutely enjoyed our stay at the excellent Anchor Caravan Park in August 2021. I must say Anne and Chris could not have made us feel more welcome. Everything was friendly, efficient and easy. The park itself is inviting, pretty and incredibly well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were immaculate. I would venture to say, probably the cleanliest in Ireland. Covid preparations on site were well thought out and made us feel safe. The location is superb. The whole area where the caravan park is situated is magical. We particularly enjoyed the incredible beach metres from the caravan park and cycling down to the local village, Castlegregory, with its cute shops, great Pizza, quality restaurants and fab speciality coffee. Anchor Caravan Park is a really special place for sure. We’ll look forward to another visit with pleasure.…
Lovely well organized camping ground, the facilities was clean and adequate Showers are nice and spacious, there are facilities for young children and a beautiful swimming beach on your doorstep, everything you need just there
5 stars 🌟 isn't enough to award this beautiful campsite, as it is even better run, better presented & cleaner than campsites I have previously rated 5 stars!! It is the little touches that speak of passion & pride in your business & Anne & Chris have achieved this no end. A genuine warmth in the welcome, a quiet unobtrusive presence, a sense of safety & security, all combined with the majestic mountains, wild flowers, blackberry bushes, Willy wagtails & a beach to die for led to a wonderful week in our little caravan. Thank you Anne & Chris. Angela & Gary
Fantastic caravan park everything you could need. And close proximity to Castlegregory for some lovely restaurants or takeaways. Beach just a pathway down at bottom of park, it’s a beautiful clean beach, the kids loved it. The facilities were excellent they also have 2 small playgrounds. Well worth a visit will definitely be returning.
Anchor park is what all Irish caravan parks should aspire to be. Just about everything you want in a caravan site except a shop which is only a 10 min walk up a country road. From entry to exit there is nothing I could fault. We were just 2 adults and a small dog in a campervan. We stayed 2 nights, used all the spotless, covid19 compliant facilities and wished we could have stayed longer. The beach out the back gate goes on for miles, 17km according to the guide books and tides and it was just wonderful to walk, few brave souls did go swimming. Chris, Anne and all the team are to be commended on a wonderful job and we look forward to returning again and again
We have visited lots of campsites in Ireland and we keep coming back to the Anchor Caravan Park. The setting is beautiful, the sites are spacious and the place is always spotless. The grounds are really well kept, with lovely flowers, hedging and cute wooden carvings etc dotted around. Great wetsuit area for water sports enthusiasts and access to a fab beach. Also recommend seven hogs for food just 10 mins or so walk. Perfect! Covid signage, arrangements etc are really well done, it feels very safe there.
This park has many amenities; 2 childrens parks, a games rooms, a camp kitchen, showers(cost), laundry(cost) and beach access. They are all in working order but some could use to be updated. There is only one dryer. Electricity at no cost. The beach is a short walk away and it is a long beautiful stretch of smooth sand. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. There is a hairdryer in the laundry room as well as secure charging stations. Great spot to camp before touring Dingle.
The Anchor is a perfectly equipped site snuggled onto the stunning Kerry coastline. We stayed in a mobile home and our overall experience was so good we've booked for next year already. The site has everything you need including two decent playgrounds (safe, with sand as their base) and a gate leading to a short path to the gorgeous beach. The climb back up this path is a small bit steep but good exercise ☺ There's an alternative longer route back if this climb is too much for you. The owners of the park are very nice and very helpful. On the rare occasion we needed anything it was no trouble to them. I can't vouch for the onsite camping facilities i.e. showers, toilets etc. as we didn't need to use them, but if the standard of every other aspect of the park is anything to go by I'm sure they're also very good. The nearest shop I would say is in nearby Camp village, about a 7 or 8 minute drive away. The nearest supermarket would be in Tralee, about a 20 odd minute drive away. My advice would be (if you rent a mobile home) is to do a big shop in Tralee on your first day and fill the fridge and cupboards. That way you won't need to venture out for a shop for the rest of your time. Tip: This is by no means a criticism of the park as it's a very small issue but I'd recommend bringing an oven pan or two with you as the mobile home we stayed in had only the grill pan, which made cooking pizzas and other foods a bit awkward. No big deal, just a tip. Overall though, this was one of the best weeks holidays we've ever had as a family (my wife, three year old and six year old boys and myself). The sun shone for five out of the seven days, which helps, but the Anchor park made it all the more enjoyable. Couldn't recommend it enough.…
Anchor caravan park is well worth a visit. the staff are very helpful, the site is very well maintained and the beach is just at the end of the caravan park. We stayed in our motorhome for 2 nights and it was great...
If you are thinking of going to Ireland with a dog ... don’t! But if like us you can’t even think of leaving Fido at home then I highly recommend Anchor Caravan Park. One of the few dog friendly campsites in the area ... and literally yards from the campsite you will find the sand dunes and the miles and miles of nearly empty golden sands. The owners couldn’t work harder to make the site welcoming, clean and comfortable. Enjoy your stay!
