We were recommended by a friend to try their Sunday roast lunch. The venue looks lovely from the outside but the inside is a complete mismatch. The dining room looks permanently set for a wedding which just looks tacky. The Sunday roast turned out to be a carvery that had been sitting under foil for far too long. The meat...

My husband and I visited this establishment for lunch as we were passing and it looked so lovely outside. When we arrived we were the only people in the restaurant, the menu looked good with specials available. I ordered a chicken and chorizo pasta dish and my husband ordered a special which was salmon with fennel. We were warned that...

We have passed the Hardwicke on the Old North Road/Ermine Way many times and wondered what it might be like inside. Yesterday we decided to go and sample, and found to our pleasant surprise that there was a Sunday carvery from 12 noon to 4.00 pm. The food was pretty delicious, and moderately priced (£11, £13, £15 for one-, two-...

After returning from a delightful yet tiring walk in the grounds of Wimpole Hall, me, my partner and my son decided to pop into the pub which we had previously seen passing several times on the main road. The warm, friendly atmosphere instantly made us feel better after a long cold walk! We sat in the bar area and had...

Hi Thank you for your positive review im glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you do call again i agree the outside isn't attractive, its very difficult this time of year to do anything like hanging baskets , which we do have during the spring / summer months also with the huge lorries going past at speed nothing lasts...

Atmospheric ex-coaching Inn retaining warm, olde worlde charm. Myself and two friends visited here today at short notice. Wonderful food, unusual starters , well-served carvery (roast beef just right, pink inside), and a delicious innovative elderflower and mint sweet. A remarkable meal for a decent price..great value, and thank you.

The hotel is in a sleepy village and serves excellent food at their Sunday carvery table. The waiter service would benefit with some training as there was no clear stations allocated to a particular waiter. As a result of that there was clearly a lack of communication and inevitable service delays but overall the experience was enjoyed by all and...

After trying out the Sunday carvery a month earlier we returned to utilise the hotel side due to its close proximity to a wedding reception venue in the area. Our room on the top floor was small and basic and not really worth what we paid for it. Typical of old buildings of this type the sound proofing is not...

hi thank you for your comments unfortunately due to the hotel being 13th to 18th century and grade 2 listed building, it is very difficult to do anything about the secondary double glazing and position of the hotel all rooms are front facing, its the way it was built. and the rooms on the top are small, but homely and...

Being a B&B near to a wedding venue we booked two rooms for overnight stay. The place is very quaint with an old period feeling to it. The rooms are on the small side but as was only staying one night didnt matter. My disabled mother did find the stairs to the rooms very hard to navigate as there isnt...

Hi Thank you for your constructive comments. Glad you had a great day at the wedding The Hardwicke arms hotel ranges from 13th to 17th/18th century so very old and quirky and rooms have been added over the 100s of years as an inn so, the Rooms are a little small, but we try to make them homely cosy the...

Quirky old building, very interesting to walk around. We were a party of 6 and seated in the function room. There are a few tables near the small bar area. A good choice on the menu, service was slow but as we were catching up with friends it wasn't a problem. The food was excellent and arrived hot, obviously freshly...
