We stayed here en route to the Queen Charlotte track. The friendly owner discussed our plans and drove us to a starting point on the track which gave us a beautiful 4 hour walk back to Anakiwa more suited to our middle-aged abilities than our original plan would have been. If the weather had been suitable he would have transported...

We stayed there only for one night, the hosts were very nice and accommodating, we took a double en-suite room which was bright, clean and super comfortable, much better than most hostels offer in every aspect. The kitchen was great and well equipped. I took a peek at the 4-bed dorm room and those beds looked extremely spoiling :) They...

Stayed here when we finished walking the Queen Charlotte Track. It is a very homely place to stay and the owners are very friendly. The hostel is extremely clean and comfortable and it was great to have all the home comforts after our 5-day walk. They even pick your bags up from the jetty for you if your luggage is...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The reason I decided to book this lodge was that they offered free kayaks. The owner was really helpful throughout the stay organizing breakfast for us as we didn't yet have a chance to go shopping and also changing his plans to accommodate our request to be picked up with his boat later during...

we were able to finish our walk of the track with curry, wine, a soak in the spa and some movies - not bad! The Hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. It was a bit of a trek to the bathroom, but we did have our own wee deck and a custom baby gate to...

I stayed a couples of days in Anakiwa with my girlfriend and we loved it! Great location at Marlborough Sounds. Great walks, nice lake with lot's of activities. Great if you just wanna get away from all. The owner upgraded our room as it was quiet and it was the best value for money I had in New Zealand. He...

I have stayed at Anakiwa Lodge the last three years in a row. It's a great place to hang out if you want the ultimate getaway. There is loads to do and kayaking on the Sounds is definitely a highlight! I also walked part of the Queen Charlotte track as a day trip to another bay and last year, my...

We stayed one night at the end of Queen Charlotte. Got the double deluxe for a family of four. The owners were terrific and very friendly. The room was lovely and inviting, and we enjoyed the large DVD collection and free jacuzzi. My only complaint is the distance between the room and the bathroom, which makes it annoying to go...

I was expecting more from this place especially since reading the reviews, there was a mistake from the booking in which the room that we wanted was already booked. To his credit the owner gave us a bigger room and a discount. Only recommend this place if you intend to go on the Queen Charlotte track.

We note you received one of our largest comfortable private rooms at a discounted rate, together with a free late checkout, so surprised you are still unhappy with your stay here. Yes, the particular room you wanted had been booked months ago and the lodge was fully booked, so our options were somewhat limited. We certainly more than complied with...
