We spent the second week of our cycling holiday here; by misadventure - our planned accommodation could not take us at the last minute, so our host booked us into 'the best accommodation in the village', which I have no doubt is true. We were welcomed by Manuel and his team to this beautiful gem; an ancient country house belonging...

Great hotel to enjoy the Somiedo experience. A beautiful typical house - casona - in the wild nature of Somiedo. Close to the town, and very warm. Manuel and his team do a great job making you feel like home. I'm used to go every year with family, kids and friends.

The hotel is located a few hundred metres from the centre of the town in a tranquil location. We were given a very warm welcome by Manuel the hotel owner, who provided us with a great breakfast every morning of our stay including delicious homemade specialities. He was also very happy to cater to our special dietary requests. It was...

This hotel is located around 300 m from the centre of Pola, in an unbeatable surroundings with breathtaking scenery. The mountain river is always singing ... It is an old country house with plenty of history and character. In Somiedo Natural Park there are lots of things to do. Our interest was the wild terrestrial orchids, that are all around the...

This is a beautiful historic inn that has been owned by the same family since the 18th century. It's location is idyllic, with every window looking onto a view of the stunning mountain valley. The family-owned and operated hotel pays careful attention to their clients and provides very friendly and helpful service. Our family of six stayed in two rooms...

The hotel is in a lovely quiet location on the edge of the village, perfectly located for walking in the Somiedo Natural Park. A characterful property in lovely grounds and Manuel made us feel most welcome (plus his excellent English and tolerance of our poor Spanish made us feel at ease)

I stayed with a friend in the main hotel (rather than the cottages you could rent). The twin room we shared was beautiful with a little balcony and a gorgeous bathroom. The house is very special with an amazing history and at about 40 euros a night each it was worth every penny. The breakfast was very nice too, with...

We were taking a walk and spotted this hotel by chance. It looked really private and inviting.Having spent a night in another hotel with damp beds and a bad breakfast,we decided to give the hotel a try the following day. It was actually our wedding anniversery that day and I am so glad there was space for us in Palacio Florez...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
From the access to the country mansion along a path lined with plants and bushes, the visitor reaches a garden surrounding the mansion where, with the passage of time, beautiful hundred-year old trees (birch, fir and pine) have formed a forest that gives shade to the Mansion. A river of sparkling, clear water pass runs through the estate on the west side, mingling with extensive, green grasslands, where the majestic sight of the Somiedo mountains can be seen. The impression given is that the entire estate, comprising the country mansion and the romantic landscape surrounding it has been astutely put there to give the hiker rest after enjoying the different excursions available in the area. The soul is soothed by its shelter and, the radiance of the day is taken over by the infinite murmuring of the night. ... more   less
