We had two nights at Ballochneck recently. Fine hospitality and lovely setting. Donnie and Fiona (plus dogs) are wonderful hosts. We would return and recommend to others in a hearbeat. They set the standard fro a relaxed country break.

from the first time we discovered Ballochneck in june 2008 . we were treated exceptionally well, once you have stayed at Ballochneck you are spoiled for ever , it's why for these reasons it remains our favorite place in Scotland ( each time between 6 and 10 days ) . The victorian house is very scottish, quiet and extremely welcoming...

My new bride and I married at Ballochneck Country House a week ago and we will never be able to express how wonderful Donnie and Fiona (the owners) were and how perfect they made our little wedding. There were eleven of us that had traveled there from the US for the wedding and my wife and I stayed as guests...

The truth regarding Ballochneck is that the less people who review it the better! Frankly the less people who know how good this accomodation is then the easier it will be for those of us who do know to book it. My wife and I arrived at Ballochneck at the tale end of a Hurricane and couldn't have arrived in...

Management response:

Thank you for the lovely review which is very much appreciated. However, we have to correct a misunderstanding over the bathrooms. There is no sharing of bathrooms - our 2 rooms each have their own private or ensuite bathroom!

We have stayed 3 nights with our two children in the yellow suite. Our children stayed in an extra bedroom which was up a flight of stairs. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated with 6 star service. Donnie and Fiona go to great lengths to make you feel absolutely comfortable and at home....

My wife and I stayed for 3 days in the Yellow Suite at Ballochneck with our adult son in the adjoining room (up a private flight of stairs). From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. We were greeted with a pot of tea and coffee with delicious, homemade shortbread after each day's excursion. Donnie and...

Ballochneck is only a short distance from Glasgow and yet it could be a thousand miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A magnificent house nestling in 200 acres of pasture ,Ballockneck offers peace and tranquility to the tired traveller coupled with splendid food and extraordinary hospitality from Fiona and Donnie. The house is clearly the home...

It is impossible to speak too highly of Ballochneck, and it would be an injustice to call it a hotel. This beautiful country house is the elegant home of Fiona & Donnie, the most genial hosts I have ever met. Our stay at Ballochneck was like no other. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like old...
