I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. We arrived after a 9 hour hike across plomb de cantal and let me say we were very happy to see the hotel! Phillipe and Dominique were very professional and friendly and gave us some very good advice regarding our next days hiking as the weather had changed for the worse. The food was outstanding. The bed was super comfy. Sure.. the hotel is dated and could do with a bit of tlc... but you don't come to this part of the world for a club med! The quality of service was superb. I would definately recommend this place to other hikers and walkers. Excellent value and service. Merci boucoup!

We left after 1 night to a more pleasant and comfortable accomodation This hotel is old with worn carpets and a prehistoric bathroom . The bed was sagging, the breakfast awful. Everything about the place was extremely depressing, not a place to enjoy yourself. No wonder this hotel was almost empty; one other couple besides us two. There were at least 10 stray CAT's living in the garden , lying around the entrance to the lobby .

We were warmly greeted upon our arrival at the hotel and given information about the sights in the immediate area. Our room looked out to the Casteltinet across the way and into the lovely courtyard. Though we only stayed for one night it was a most pleasant stay as the bed was comfortable the room and bathroom were clean. We also had dinner at the hotel and the meal was delicious. I highly recommend staying at this hotel and availing yourself of all there is to see in the region.

We booked this hotel for 5 people travelling back through France on our motorbikes. I stupidly booked it for the Monday rather than the Sunday night and we caused a bit of a flutter when we turned up a day early. We also didn't arrive until 9pm. There was no option to get anything to eat in the village at this time on a Sunday and we were resigned to maybe some peanuts and beers to keep us going. The manager/chef offered to cook us some fish if we wanted. YES PLEASE! What we actually got was a 4 course meal, fantastic food; a ham salad, freshly cooked fish with dauphin potatoes and ratatouille, cheese and desert. And the cost was very reasonable and we got a great breakfast I would agree that the hotel is looking a bit run down and tired but they seem to be upgrading the rooms. I would highly recommend staying here if you need a bed for the night and some great hospitality.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a nice view, just a little bit of noise from the road (and a barking dog)

We stayed for one night while hiking in the area. Good points -most excellent food, great dinner and breakfast. Exceptional food, and Phillipe was very attentive ensuring we have what we needed. Rooms were quiet, beds clean and soft. Bad point? The bathrooms are pretty dated and mine could have been cleaner. Small point, it is a nice location and we slept very well.
