It was really good that we could eat in the public bar and take the dog - much appreciated. Food was good pub food using fresh local ingredients. We had local pittenweem prawns in garlic butter and husband had a seafood platter which was very good. Reasonably priced, friendly service They have a pool table in bar too. For warmer... More

After first dinner we went back 2 more times in the 10 day stay in St Monans so I think that says it all. Very nice restaurant area with an adjourning bar. Very friendly staff. I think Lucy was the name of our primary server all three times. I had a Hake fish entree with a crusty topping and mustard... More

We stayed in St Monans over the weekend and ended up eating at the hotel on the Friday night, Food was excellent, staff were great. Grant the barman made us feel really welcome. We liked it so much we went back on the Saturday night as well. Would really recommend eating here.

Have been here twice for dinner recently when visiting this area. Food is very tasty and good value. Thoroughly enjoyed my home made soup then gammon steak. The surroundings are nicely old-fashioned and the staff friendly and attentive.

Having eaten in the Mayview a number of years ago, i was a bit apprehensive on going back as i did not rate it very much before. On this occasion we were attending an anniversary and had booked a weekend stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly and room was clean and comfortable (nice toiletries in the bathroom) also had two... I would recommend this pleasant hotel in St Monans. We stayed for 4 nights. The room was attractive with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The breakfast was very tasty - my husband particularly enjoyed the real scottish porridge and the black pudding. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a nice family atmosphere. There was... More

We were visiting St Monans on holiday and rented a local cottage. Our first visit blew me away with the most professional and service I've ever had. It was a busy night in the restaurant but the landlady said she'd find us a table if we'd wait a bit and seated us in the bar; a proper local's bar with... More

Went in without a reservation(recommend that you should book). I had homemade steak pie with potatoes and veg and my wife had various fish in breadcrumbs with salad and chips - both very really tasty! The staff were all lovely and very welcoming! Worth a trip

Nice village, shame this pub still has'nt sold, as a new owner might take pride in it A real 60's relic, not in a good way, rude owner, and dreadful food. Avoid. Better off going into nearby Elie, one of the pubs there. How anyone can host a special occasion in such a dump is beyond me. Looks o.k. from... More

Very good seafood options on the menu - we can recommend the monkfish and the seafood panache. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room was traditional - perhaps dated, but a nice atmosphere. We would certainly go back
