Lovely hotel with really friendly staff. My room was very clean and nicely decorated. I had an issue with my shower which they offered to swap me rooms however it was to a single so I declined. They then gave me a key to another room to shower. However the next day this was still not rectified which was a shame. The food was excellent and even though I covered my delicious steak in the peppercorn sauce it was one of the nicest steaks I’ve had. Breakfast had plenty of choice and once again delicious.
From the very first day we came to look at the hotel for our wedding we were made to feel like family and that didn't change right up until we left after our big day. All of our guests have since commented on how good the hotel staff were and how welcome they were made to feel. I can't tell you how much that means to us. We'd like to give special thanks to Paul for being our wonderful Master of Ceremonies, it meant alot to us as he was the first person we met. Also to Cameron for being an absolute star on the big day. To Connie, a wonderful, cheery ray of sunshine in the mornings. To the amazing housekeeping ladies, they treated us like old friends and nothing was too much trouble for them. To the lovely blonde lady on reception, I'm so sorry I didn't catch her name but she was absolutely fantastic on the morning after the wedding. And finally to you Carolyn, for being first class at your job and taking all my worries and stresses away. It meant that I got to enjoy the whole day from start to finish without having to worry about a single thing. I really can't thank you enough. The Eglinton has a very special place in our hearts and we can't wait to come back again in the future. Until then, take care and thanks a million, it was 'pure dead brilliant' ☺…
I received a warm and friendly welcome, which is always a winner for me. The room was amazing and clean, the breakfast was hot and tasty and served promptly. Couldn't fault my stay or service in any way
Writing a review is not something I have ever done before but in the case of the Eglinton Arms I feel it would be nice to share my experience with you. To give you some background, my property needed some urgent renovation work and due to a lack of rental options in the village I found myself booked into the Eglinton Arms - a stay that would last 8 weeks in total. Although the hotel is in the heart of the village of Eaglesham and has always had a lovely reputation I honestly did not know what to expect in terms of actually becoming a resident. I need not have worried, from the moment I checked in and explained I might be staying for a while I was greeted with a warm and welcoming smile. Paul the General Manager spoke with me and said that the team would help make the hotel my home and that if there was anything I would need I just had to ask (how lovely and how reassuring). From day one (having enjoyed a perfect nights sleep) I could not have been made to feel more welcome. The hotel itself is just beautiful, from the minute you walk in and see the open fire you feel the warmth and luxury of the surrounds. The hotel is spotless, the bedrooms are pristine with crisp white bed linen and the most luxurious of mattresses. The dining room is perfectly formed and has a mixture of booths, tables and a relaxed seating area, there is also a lovely new outdoor restaurant area - this is all coupled with the backdrop of the Orry, a setting that can only be described as something from a picture postcard. However, the Eglinton Arms is much more more than it’s surrounds, the hotel is about the staff (many of whom have worked at the hotel for many years) who are absolutely incredible. Amanda - Head of House Keeping made me feel so welcome, nothing was ever too much trouble. the whole team care so much about the customer experience and for me I cannot thank them enough. On Mother’s Day I was given a card, flowers and chocolates, when I had a cold I was sent lemon and honey. The team are just incredible. The restaurant; the food is excellent with a wide and varied seasonal selection. I can honestly say both me and my family enjoyed every meal always achieving quality, consistency and real value for money. On the days I needed a light bite it was never too much trouble to make me for example an omelette, such a special touch which I was so grateful for. I had never really thought of going to the Eglinton Arms for just a coffee but this is something I would also recommend (the scones are absolutely delicious too). We also enjoyed the set afternoon tea which has a lovely selection of cakes and sandwiches and is very well priced at £15 per head. However, the restaurant experience would not be possible without the staff who are just fantastic - true professionals. Each and every day I was welcomed with a warm and friendly smile. Each and every member of the staff are lovely but a special mention to Chef Ian, Connie, Gavin and Alex who made my time so special. Over the last 8 weeks I have seen all sorts of gatherings, from Birthdays through to engagements parties, funerals and weddings and each and every time the staff go out if their way to make people feel welcomed. How lovely to hear the staff say how much they enjoyed a wedding, it’s that added personal touch that makes the Eglinton Arms so special. Lastly thank you to Adrian and all the reception team including Sarah Jayne and Vicky. It is one thing to get a level of service for one or two nights stay but it is testament to all the team across the business to consistently maintain the highest level of service and standard day in day out. I cannot thank you all enough for making my stay so special, and making me feel like one of the Eglinton Arms family. God bless you all.…
Why does it take so long to fix the basin plug in a room and why is the plumbing still a problem in superior rooms. I always book a particular room because because although it has faults, we know about them.
I had my wedding here last month and can't speak highly enough of all the wonderful staff we dealt with. The venue is beautiful, the food is great and it's in a beautiful location for wedding photos with the orry and old village in the background. We planned our wedding in only three months but the staff were so friendly and helpful that we found it all pretty easy and stress free! As the title says, if you're thinking of having your wedding here, you should do it!
This is a gorgeous hotel with very freindly staff and excellent standards throughout. The food is first class as is the service in the restaurant, the bedroom I had was meticulously clean. I will definitely return.
We stay at the "Eg" whenever we are in Glasgow. The building is charming as is the village in which it is located. The rooms and decor are inviting. The staff are always welcoming and the service is excellent. I'm sure many have said this before - the Eglinton Arms is a gem, not too far from Glasgow!
Stayed at this superb hotel for a wedding ( ceremony also held here) lovely service and as a hotel all staff were helpful and friendly - nothing to much trouble - excellent location in a lovely village. The food was great - - good choice on the menu and wedding meal equally as good.
Faultless service at our family wedding weekend. The attention to detail. Preperation, food, service and presentation were all fantastic. The staff were genuinely Interested and part of the wedding too.
