This was our fourth stay in the hotel, why......location, well run, great staff, great food, relaxing, peaceful,...….what more is there to say other than if you are in the area you must try and stop for at least one night.

Love staying here, Graham remembered us & as charming as ever, staff lovely, food great, first nights meal was rushed but made up for on second night .
Sea views as always are amazing, we will be back.
We were recommended to this hotel by friends and it certainly did not disappoint. The situation overlooking the Solway is superb and relaxing and the cuisine is outstanding.
Plenty to see in surrounding area, including Threave Gardens [NTS] and the town of Kirkcudbright

Yes, dogs are welcome to stay with you in the rooms. We stayed here with our border terrier. in a garden view room. They even have dog bags in a dispenser in the grounds. A walk along the shore is a must. lots of interesting smells. I would advise against the longer version of the walk to balcary point as you would have to pass through a field of cows who react badly to dogs. We saw a woman being knocked over by the cows. Take your dog to this hotel and have a great time. We did.

It is a lovely secluded bay, forest tracks as well as the gardens, stretch of beach at the back of the hotel, there is also a cliff walk that can be taken from the hotel, no doubt they could supply you with more information.
