We first stayed at this hotel in 2009 and raved about it then. Going back now we were both pleasantly and less pleasantly surprised. The lovely setting has developed further with the arboretum being a real treat. The service is as we remembered - very good with plenty of staff. However the rooms, both the public areas and the bedrooms...

This building and its setting is a gem to be treasured and long may it continue. So nice that it remains a family concern too. I have visited several times over the years for Christmas parties, afternoon tea and a friend's wedding reception. This time my family attended for Sunday lunch. The food was very good and the service, though...

Thank you for your kind review of Sunday lunch at West Lodge Park, I am pleased that you have noted the family connection which goes back to 1945, the hotel now being run by the third and fourth generations of the Beale family. Lunch is more highly priced on Sundays when demand is highest, although the all in price of...

West Park Lodge offers a pleasant, unhurried stay in a traditional hotel, very English in it's way. Full of character, well appointed and with exceptional grounds, beautifully maintained. But it is quality of service that really impresses and that is evident from the very top down. Full marks to the entire team!

Thank you for your kind review of West Lodge Park, I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us after the Christening, and pleased that all the staff looked after you so well, The cold winds are preventing the full enjoyment of the 35 acres of grounds surrounding the hotel, but I am glad that you managed to get...

We attended a Sunday afternoon wedding here, arriving 2 hours ahead of our check in time but Andrew on reception (and later managing the wedding arrangements) arranged for our room to be ready faster than usual to allow us to get ready for our event. Our double executive room was lovely with everything you would expect and more, looking out...

What a super review of West Lodge Park, thank you so much, Andrew Sivi who looked after you has just been promoted to the number two position of Operations Manager, and I am delighted that he looked after you so well. We host smaller weddings without discos at West Lodge Park, and I really can't think of a nicer venue...

Easy to get to by car or tube - nearest Cockfosters. A family run owned hotel thru 3 generations since 1945. Very high staff ratio to guests. Good service. Traditional hotel with no spa or gym, but who needs it with over 300 acres and an aboretum to wander through with lovely gardens. This was a total surprise. I was...

Thank you for your kind review of West Lodge Park, I am glad that we looked after you so well and that you found it hard to believe it is in North London. Sadly I would love to have 300 acres of grounds, but we only have a mere 35 acres ! Do come again soon, and book a break...

Had a snack lunch in the Bar area and luckily a friend of one of us reserved a table as when we arrived and we're asked if we had booked we said, no and their reply was "we have no room". The friend is a regular patron there as lives in the area and from then on we were all...

Thank you for your 5/5 or 100% review of West Lodge Park, although I was sorry to see that despite the grade, you wouldn't come again. I would ask that you do not judge us on one visit ; Sundays are very busy for us, as we concentrate on functions like the one your family member is planning, as well...

Can't fault this hotel. Just off the M25, park at the tube station for £2.50 and straight to Piccadilly Circus, then back at the end of the day for a relaxing stay in this beautiful setting. We'll be back.

A terrific review, thank you so much ! Cockfosters Tube car park is £5 Mon-Fri, £2 Saturday and bank holidays, and £1.50 Sundays. In this day and age, that is something of a steal, as getting into town from here is so easy. Kindest regards, Andrew Beale Managing Director Beales Hotels

Thank you for your good review of West Lodge Park following the funeral reception for your friend. I am sorry for your loss, but grateful for your comments, as we don't get many similar reviews on Tripadvisor, although plenty of letters each year from people hosting funeral receptions of this kind. Do come again, albeit in happier circumstances next time....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Lodge Park Hotel. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful from when we first checked in to the next day when we checked out. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
West Lodge Park Hotel is a beautiful country house hotel set in 35 acres of grounds on the edge of North London. It has been owned and run by three generations of the Beale family since 1945 and now has 59 bedrooms, the Mary Beale Restaurant and Terrace Bar, 8 stunning banqueting rooms, and plentiful free parking. The hotel is located just a mile from Cockfosters Tube station where there is a large car park and frequent trains on the Piccadilly Line to all the sights of central London. Around the hotel is the magnificent Beale Arboretum, with over 800 species of trees from around the world, 2 national collections of hornbeams and swamp cypresses, and plentiful hard paths and interpretive signage. The hotel is also home to the Edward Beale collection of Old master paintings, most of which have been painted by the ancestor of the family, Mary Beale, who was Britain's first professional woman artist, painting at the time of Charles II. It would be a pleasure to welcome you to this beautiful hotel. Andrew BealeManaging DirectorBeales Hotels ... more   less
