We took a small double at £110 as there were no deluxe doubles at £120 left. What a difference - I saw the deluxe room and it looked lovely and comfortable and worth the money compared to our little back room at only £10 less. The smaller room was overpriced but the bigger room looked worth the money and if...

Stayed here many times and will stay many more, a great central location. Comfortable rooms and good food. A bonus of a bath and a shower in my room. A good choice of things to choose from at breakfast too

My friend Brian and I breakfast almost every Saturday in life and have done so for the last 7 years. We have been to many establishments until we found The Lodge at Carfraemill 3 years ago, we have never been anywhere else since. It is comfortable, warm, welcoming and the food is great. The owner Jo and manager Susan are...

We stay on a couple of occasions each year for a night and have done so for many years. It has never...

We stayed for one night bed breakfast and evening meal. The room was clean and comfortable, the evening meal was excellent, served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and sociable, but in no way overbearing. The full Scottish breakfast was both tasty and well presented. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and only wish...

The staff were friendly and kind. The food was superb with ample portions and served in the comfortable bar/dining area. Breakfast was served in a separate room which was beautifully set out.The location of the hotel made it ideal fo exploring the border towns and the Edinburgh park and ride was only about 20 miles up the road.

We held a family lunch in Joe's kitchen for my father's 90th birthday. The food was excellent and the staff efficient, friendly and helpful. In particular we would like to thank Susan and Margaret for ensuring that everything ran smoothly and helping to make this a memorable day for my father, who has visited the hotel for many years.
