What a shame that this restaurant has gone down and down in recent months and years. The staff are quite friendly, the food is ok but no more than ok. It is the fabric of the restaurant that lets it down. Carpet dirty, dead flies on the window sill, the conservatory is falling to bits and the furniture is knackered...

When I arrived I was quickly shown to a table which really belonged in a skip. No linen to hide the scruffy table and only cheap paper napkins. The pre dinner nibbles were horrible and consisted of cheap mayonnaise with grated cheese in. Our lunch was lovely with the exception of the vegetables being COLD. The crockery was chipped which...

Stayed here with the my husband and 2 boys for one night and felt compelled to write this review. The service we received was fabulous, the food delightful. What make our stay even more outstanding was that our youngest son fell ill with a very high temperature late in the evening and Alison insisted on taking us to and from...

Visited Saturday lunchtime. The table d'hôte menu seemed good value at £12.95 for two courses and we weren't disappointed. We chose lamb shank, veal medallions and belly pork all of which were very well presented and good quality and accompanied by sauté or new potatoes with fresh vegetables. The restaurant has magnificent views over the River Usk and surrounding countryside....

Visited today for lunch after an absence of some six years and wondered if the menu and service were still as good as we remembered. No need to worry, if anything it was far better. We were given a table next to the window with fabulous views over the countryside and the river. The service was friendly and attentive, and...

This was our second visit to this lovely hotel, last time we stayed in November & I vowed then we would come back in the Summer & have a room with a balcony & that's exactly what we did! We stayed in June & the weather was lovely (which obviously enhances your visit) we sat on the balcony (which is...

LLanwenarth Hotel is a short distance west of Abergavenny on the A40, easy to find, in it's own setting and not in amongst the hubub of a town. The rooms are set in a separate building just across a pleasant courtyard. My room had a balcony with a very pleasing and relaxing view overlooking the river. Food and menu were...

I go to this establishment every so often with a group of friends. We are never disappointed. The choice of menu suits everyone and is regularly updated. The food is always of a high quality and excellent presentation! We have never had a bad meal since coming here. Excellent value, they have lunchtime special menus and in the evening early...

It's been quite a while since the last visit, which was in 2013 and we stayed on that visit. We were first in for lunch and asked the person behind the bar if we could get lunch. She walked through the length of the bar to the end which is in the restaurant, could then hear her say to someone...
