Friendly staff, good food, good vegetarian choices. Ignore the recent bad review. Dunno which pub they visited, but not the one I know. Been here many times with friends and family. Never had a bad experience. Just glad to see them open again after the long lockdown.

The sunday lunch was very good. Home cooked and fresh. The meat was melt in the mouth. The restaurant was traditional and very clean. Staff friendly and the service was good. Definitely worth a visit if visiting the area.

Stayed 3 nights over the bank holiday and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious - perfectly cooked poached eggs and the bacon was amazing. The roof terrace for hotel guests was great sitting in the sun watching the activities on the street below. Thank you we had a lovely time.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip, very well looked after by Jackie during stay and the room was very comfortable. As I had eaten before arriving wasn’t able to have a second dinner although breakfast was brought to the room in the morning right on time and the selection of food available was top notch. The bar and restaurant were closed due to the current regulations but will reopen soon, would have enjoyed sampling some of the local brews from the bar although Jackie very kindly brought some drinks to the room. Hand sanitizer mandatory when entering and exiting the hotel and single use toiletries are in place in the bathroom, the rooms are thoroughly cleaned and ventilated as well as being left vacant for a day before the next guests arrive so hygienically spot on. Some really nice walks and paths for cycling on round the Talbot, cycled 20km out and back along the canal path which was very enjoyable. Big thanks to Jackie for being an excellent host, will definitely return if in the area again.
