We stayed here for two nights at the end of the Wye Valley Walk. After the noise of Rhayader the previous night the contrast couldn't have been greater. The Old Vicarage is in a no through road and consequently the traffic is virtually nonexistent. Our room was very light and airy and the beds very comfortable. Marilyn was a perfect... More

This is an excellent place to stay, we received a warm welcome and were shown to our very comfy bedroom, supplied with all those little extras that make a difference. Lovely view of the Welsh hills from our room. Breakfast was wonderful with a large choice of cooked items, fresh fruit salad, cereals, juice etc. Based right in the centre... More

I stayed here for an overnight business trip and wasn't dissapointed. The staff were fantastic, the room was spacioud and very cosy. My order was taken immediately upon arrival for breakfast and was cooked fresh and delicious. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Ideal for the final stages of the wonderful Wye Valley walk. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, views of the Welsh hills, and above all, extremely helpful hosts! Half-way through our last day we discovered we'd left in our room the keys to the car we'd taken to Hafren Forest to drive back in. They insisted on bringing them to us so... More

You don't get a lot of choice when it comes to B&Bs in Llangurig, but the Old Vicarage 'does what it says on the tin'. It's not smart, nor is it super-comfortable, but it does not pretend to be either. What it provides is a good night's rest at modest cost and that's exactly what we wanted after a long... More

Stayed on a recent cycling trip across the Transcambrian Way. Felt very welcome even though we turned up covered in mud and soaking wet. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful. Couldn’t finish it all!

We sellected the Old Vicarage guesthouse to stay overnight on our first day in wales, due to it being around the distance from home that we wanted to achieve on that first day. We were very happy with our choice, that could not have been better for the money we paid. The welcome from the Landlady was brilliant, making us... More

Stayed one night on Wye Valley Walk. Very friendly landlady who was obliging in lending us her stand alone heater when we turned up very bedraggled and wet through from walking all day! Nice comfy bed in airy clean room. Not always ideal having to try and dry wet clothing and gear in the bedroom though! Fresh fruit at breakfast... More

Marylin was very welcoming and did us a packed lunch for the Wye Valley walk ahead. Taxi was arranged to the source at Plynlimon with ease and help was at hand to get us dry upon our return. Cooked breakfasts were a great feed for the walking ahead and the recommended local called the Bluebell did great food in the... More

Yes, the room was pleasant enough - but I had to laugh when I read the review that said that it was "spotlessly clean". So it was. But the windowless shower-room had been cleaned with some bleach or disinfectant that smelt extremely unpleasant and stronger than the strongest chlorine. I had to hold my breath when I went in and... More
