I first stayed at the hotel about 10 years ago and loved it then. I probably went about 2 or 3 times over an 18 month period. Now that i'm back in the UK i wanted to revisit a truly fantastic restaurant/pub/hotel. When i arrived this weekend I was a little shocked to learn the owners back then had sold...

We were seeking a comfortable, quiet get away with good food and variety of local hikes with our dogs. We certainly got that in spades. This charming B&B is situated in a valley near a river walk, is well cared for with warm and friendly owners and a very professional and knowledgable staff. The wine list provides variety the quality...

Called in for lunch having previously enjoyed a meal at this establishment. On this occasion the food was not even passable. I ordered a simple fish and chip lunch(£14.95) not cheap, the fish was supposed to be cod, it was dry, over cooked and totally lacking in flavour. The chips were hard on the outside and dry and powdery on...

We had sunday lunch at the Bell yesterday and we were impressed. I had the beef and my partner had the lamb. Meat was nicely cooked and the vegetables were spot on! But the crowning glory was the sticky toffee pudding which was to die for!! The place was very nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely...

Very pleasant setting and curtious staff. I had the lamb whilst my partner had the beef - both very nice with the veg nicely cooked. We shared the sticky toffee pudding and it was excellent. We would certainly visit the bell again.

Took my dad away for a weekend break. Booked the Bell for Sunday Roast. Nice setting but food not up to standard. Expensive in comparison to other local restaurants we tried. Lamb more like tough mutton, burnt Yorkshires and got drinks order wrong. Can't recommend based on our experience.

Stayed here for a night, had booked a table for dinner but were running late so had to cancel, nothing was too much trouble for the team at the bell and on arriving they had food waiting for us even though the kitchen was closing. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was perfect with lots of nice spaces to...

Have barely left the hotel & felt immediately compelled to leave a review as expectations were not met given previous great reviews. Room: bathroom is upstairs to bedroom with no door. Luckily I am traveling alone so not an issue. But one to bare in mind should there be two of you... Dinner: ordered the lamb, asked for mint sauce...

I'm not sure that someone who leaves a Hotel without paying their bill is in a position to post derogatory comments on this site. However, it should be noted that we wrote to you twice before you came advising you that no meals were included on your discounted rate, through a third party booking site, and inviting you to enquire...

We have just returned from a weekend here and we were not disappointed from the lovely welcome, upgrade to our room, partners big birthday. The meal in the restaurant was superb, from the quiet unassuming , professional waitresses the Devine meal an superb wine. A weekend away from signals, a walk to the old church and ruined castle . Ideal...

My partner and I stayed here last night and I would tell anybody to take all of the negative posts with a pinch of salt. Some of them are particularly mean. We wanted a night away and a place that would allow the dog to join us. The establishment was also highly recommended by other people that my partner knows....
