This is a really picturesque hotel ideal location perfect for visiting Raglan castle. The staff are friendly and welcoming, we stayed in the king on the top floor with lovely views of the church. We dined at the hotel the menu selection was excellent and the delicious food was beautifully presented. Can't wait to revisit.
What an amazing coffee stop we had today for 17 hungry Cwmcarn Paragons club riders hosted by Trish and her fantastic team with amazing range of cakes and fantastic coffee with a log fire to boot. 10 out of 10 🤩🤩🤩 Well done 👍 ………….
We visited today for Lunch. Came here last year and the experience was awful. How ever the restuarant experience has inproved to a high level of service ( Thank you Trish). Also we thought we would try exactly the same items on the menu. Last year we had Cod for our lunch, it was very poorly cooked and in fact was so poor I complainned to a member of the staff who was not interested at all. This person no longer works there. This time the service was excellent with a lady called Trish who could not do enough for us. The meal, the main and sweet course was excellent. So far removed from our previous experience. We are visiting the area and now live in Yorkshire.
I booked a two night stay with full English breakfast via booking.com to stay on Friday 30th December and Saturday 31st December in a twin room. I particularly booked as they have an on-site restaurant meaning we could enjoy a relaxing few nights under one roof. It was only after booking and having paid the deposit that I was advised the restaurant would not be open on NYE. I was also advised that no entertainment would be available but the bar would be open. Unfortunately, due to the short notice most places were fully booked so I then had to search around for somewhere to eat. Which I did do but meant a drive out. The first evening we ate in the restaurant. The main meals were fine yet the dessert which was described as a “Winter Berry Pavlova” was basically a rock hard meringue with sauce, fresh cream and strawberries. No sign of any winter berries and the pavlova was hardly edible as you couldn’t break it. The next morning we came down for breakfast which was absolutely fantastic, everything cooked to perfection and the service was great. It was later that we discovered there would be no cooked breakfasts available the following day, much to our disappointment. We spoke to the Manager who offered to “dig some bacon out the freezer” but reminded us that as it was NYE she was not sure what state the staff would be in the next day…..not really my problem. That evening we drove out for the meal and returned about 10pm, there was a handful of locals in the bar and music playing via an Alexa, not much going on so we decided to go up to the room and watch the celebrations and fireworks on the tv. TV not working ! A few Channels but kept cutting out so our NYE was spent watching a few minutes of the fireworks on the ITV news ! So, we decided to go to bed. The music volumes had now increased from the bar and the music was thumping with Alexa constantly saying “ searching for………” or “playing music similar to………..” by 1am I went downstairs and still only a few locals in the bar so went back up and thought they would drift off soon. By 2.40am I had lost the will to live so went down again. There was only a few locals and the bar staff. The music was blaring out and the young barmaid said she would turn the music down. I went back up but could still hear it (although not as loud) and finally got to sleep around 3.30/4am. At breakfast the next morning they did apologise for the noise levels and we went through to breakfast. Dan was lovely but we felt so guilty asking for some cooked bacon. He offered us an egg with it so we thought it was better than nothing. We asked for very well done and crispy bacon and a hard egg each. The food was inedible. Upon leaving the room for check out I to switch the lamp off and noticed the base wasn’t level and upon moving it discovered a used cotton bud (not ours) underneath. Absolutely disgusting and clearly the cleaner hadn’t done a very good job. This just about finished the whole awful experience off. I did complain in writing the next day and was offered £90 compensation. This still has not been returned to my card !! I understand things happen and it was NYE but clearly they didn’t really care and their offer of compensation was just lip service.…
Booked rooms 4&6 for Saturday 17/12/22.Initially the check in time was at 3 but when I mentioned I wanted to get ready for my wedding Steph the Reception Manager with a warming welcome made sure the rooms were ready for 11am which was so amazing of her to make sure the day would start perfectly. On arrival Steph helped carry our bags to our room which had roses and a wedding card, which was a lovely touch.Had table 23 booked for our evening meal, this was dressed beautifully with roses and petals beautifully decorated surroundings thanx to the Manager Trish, she really went out of her way.We were also spoilt with a complimentary bottle of Fizz. Our meals were excellent, the Christmas menu, salmon, bass and steak with huge prawns.Jack and the staff couldn't do enough for us..Need to mention the Breakfast, again really good,Trish was back in that morning with her big smile. We had the best time thanx to the excellence of a fantastic team that really do want you to have a wonderful stay at the Beaufort.Bravo and Thank you again for making our special day even more special...See you in the new year.…
Superior rooms that are anything but superior, the noisiest bathroom fan I’ve ever heard, mattresses with springs coming through, dirty bedding, freezing room! Underwhelming food, rude reception staff. Safe to say we will not return and judging by the lack of diners and guests so near Xmas many feel the same!
Wonderful attentive staff lovely chilled vibes throughout, stayed in a room with beautiful views of church opposite, bed was so comfy I didn't want to get out of it, had a great sleep, oh and the cocktails were awesome!
Poor lunch yesterday - strangest cut of turkey ever with the turkey dinner - frozen mixed veg and strangest tasting gravy. Soup of the day - potato and leek - very stringy and peppery. V.nice coffee afterwards.
First time at this pub for lunch with family .The 2 course lunch is excellent value at £15.95 we all enjoyed our meals and our veg family were well catered for.I had the pie which was very good with melt in the mouth beef .We will be back ignore the poor reviews
We have just had a lovely three night stay at the Beaufort hotel in Raglan. The hotel was most welcoming and has cosy bars, wood burning stoves, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food with large helpings. On the night of our anniversary there was a lovely bouquet of flowers and a celebratory card on our dining table, having left the dining room and returned to ours we were then presented with a chocolate pudding complete with a coulis heart surrounding it on the plate The Christmas decorations were subtle and attractive and fitted the surroundings beautifully. A stay at the hotel is thoroughly recommended.
