I dont have words to say - how COOL it was and how good! PERFECT! Openminded, friendly, nice owners who lives nearby in the next house, green beautiful territory with parking, green green grass, terrace, barbeque, all the possible equipment you need while staying there. Perfect rooms with FULL equipments and furniture. Beautiful nice beach, amazing sunrises and sunsets. Though it might be some starfishes, sharp shells in the water and some times a seriously low tide on this side of Carribean, it does not influence on that. This House if Perfect and located perfectly. Just enjoy that place! Strongly recommended

This house, with its own beach on the Caribbean, was perfect for us. Skip and Sharon, the owners, have thought of everything — snorkels and masks, water toys, frisbees, beach umbrellas, a variety of boats, WiFi, a well-equipped kitchen, ample towels, a hammock, beach chairs — it's all here. The house is very comfortable. Skip is an able carpenter and makes sure everything's in good condition. We're new to Eleuthera, and we'vd fallen in love with the island. The locals are exceptionally friendly; they always have time to give directions, answer questions, or fill us in on local history. We can't believe the spectacular beaches with nary a human in sight. We feel truly blessed to have stumbled on the Barefoot Beach House, and we'll definitely be back.

You know how good it feels when you arrive at a rental and it is far better than you could have hoped for?! This is such a property. The beach was right in front of us and the house is probably in one of the best Eleuthera locations you could vacation at. The view of the small islands in front of the house with a sunrise over a dock and sunset beyond an island is magnificent. We were able to go kayaking (multiple kayaks available), snorkeling (with supplies at the house to use) and Skip took us out on their boat. The house was immaculately clean and hosts very friendly and informative. We had an overall great great Bahama vacation and a lot had to do about the house we rented. We plan to book this rental again.

Wife and I spent 3 nights here in early DEC. Wanted a place with relative solitude. Stayed in the Mermaid cottage. Very clean, well decorated, large walk in shower, full kitchen, comfortable bed. Hosts Skip and Sharon were very friendly and helpful.

First, we want to say that the island is not for everyone, and thats the whole point. If you want to watch the sunrise and the sunset on your own or with close loved ones, this is the place for you. If you want to walk a secluded beach, this is the place for you. If you want to drive from one end of the island to the other with no traffic lights and minimal vehicles, this is the place for you. The whole point is "the island at this time" has not been commercialized and you make your own fun. That could change in the distant future. As for the Mermaid Cottage, it was perfect as others have stated. The breeze flowing through the windows and screen doors along with the sounds of the ocean waves breaking on shore was all we needed to unwind and relax, day and night. Our thoughts are: the more times you visit, the more you will get out of the island. Sharon and Skip were ideal hosts. We knew we could stop over at any time of the day or night to ask for assistance or just to socialize. We would not have known that Sharon and Skip were just a stones throw away if we had not been greeted and informed of that on our arrival. By that we mean, we were left alone to our own schedule to do as we pleased. We recommend renting a Jeep or 4wd. This will get you to some of the best beach locations as a regular car will struggle. The island is truly on island time, this adds to the whole relaxation experience (it was suggested to my husband "he needs to slow down, he is on island time") referring to his driving. LOL It is a small island. What happens on Eleuthera stays on Eleuthera!!!!!!
