The Freeport Resort is located about a 5-7 minute drive from Port Lucaya. This is where all the action is! You will really like this small, low key, clean, well manicured resort if you rent a car. The resort does provide shuttle service at no cost to Xanadu Beach and the grocery store, but the times are limited. The Grand Bahamas...

Although the resort is a bit outdated, it is well maintained and clean and feels like home. The common (pool) area is small and intimate. The atmosphere is so relaxing and quiet, it's easy to fall into a conversation with fellow vacationers. But it isn't all 'down time'. Smiling Pat (who works independently from the resort) is onhand during Sunday...

We stayed at the Freeport Resort Club for a week in March. It is a very quaint and relaxing place. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. There is an orientation every Sunday afternoon. This updates you on events that are going on around the island and at the resort. I would...

I love Freeport Resort it is my home base. Unfortunately two Hurricanes devasted the area and the nightlife. The entire Island is hurting. But, savvy travelers should take advantage of the unique bus system , make contact with a local cabbie. some of the restaurants will deliver and some will pick you up. The resort take you to the beach...

We had seen some negative reviews about the Freeport resort, mostly due to lack of night life and proximity to the Action. We spent a week there in April and were very pleased. The area near the resort is hurting a little due to the hurricane and the Collapse of Lehman bros, that owned a large resort nearby that is...

I have to tell you...after reading the previous reviews, I was a bit nervous about staying at the FRC. Our one week stay has left us with great memories of respectful, accommodating, talented staff who's priority is to ensure you are happy. I will have to work off all those great bahamian dishes that were prepared by Rose and Rochelle...

Our one-bedroom unit was quite large, including a walk-in closet. The decor is a bit dated but everything is clean and well maintained. The landscaping looks really nice and they obviously put a lot of effort into it. Staff was polite and helpful; when we had a minor problem with our refrigerator door they fixed it promptly. The kitchen was...

I have to agree mith most. If you are greater than the age of death, then this resort might be for you. Don't expect anything nice. If you are looking for a getaway, stay at then local mission or something else other than this. We did an exchange with Interval. The resort came highly rated by Interval so I have...

First of all, Grand Bahama Island is pretty cool and definitely worth the visit. The locals are friendly, the beaches and scenery are incredible and the weather is pretty hard to beat. For all these reasons, I am very glad I went and enjoyed overall my stay. The Freeport Resort itself is a bit quirky. It has the feel of...
