The double room was plenty adequate and reasonably nice. The marina was calm and, in hindsight, safe. I wonder about the sanitation of the pools and getting a ride to any place outside the "resort" was a chore. There was a great ice machine, but only one and, at times, the

No a great location. The staffs are nice people and they will try to accommodate your needs but you will spend more than you expect at this location. Food are expensive and there is no main native food. I do not see the place as a tourist attraction place to go to.

Beautiful resort but don't fly there by Bahama Air and no Casino any more and a lot of areas still devastated by all the hurricanes. Very windy and they need to heat the pool. We really enjoyed all the restaurants and food. Every thing you buy a vat tax is added and it is

There is no entertainment at all. The so called snack bar is open from about 11am till 6pm, NOT a restaurant. You must take a taxi for a real place to eat. There was no work out area that we saw. Overall stay someplace else. Room about a 3 star but the rest forget.

Have read the previous replies, but will give you my advice. Email the resort to find out if there is an age restriction. They got back to me quickly with answers to my questions. We stay at the Wellington Hotel in New York when there, and the age is 18. I would ask about the age to drive also. There is car rental available on-site and although the cars aren’t the best, they get you around. You can read all of the reviews on TA (find mine from April of this year), but the resort while we were there hosted mostly age 40-70 guests with a handful of small children. Most of the people out and about were boaters who had been there for several months. If there are any boaters staying the time of year you go, it makes for a more interesting time. Forgetting age, if you are looking simply for a place to stay that has a clean room, two clean pools, a restaurant onsite or with a kitchen to fix your own food, a nice view of the marina, and some entertainment/activities, this has it. If you’re looking for a place with a young crowd, a party atmosphere everyday, and a beach, this isn’t it. Timeshare resorts can be dated sometimes, but if they are clean and you don’t have expectations for a 4 or 5 star resort, it works. - This resort would be a 3 at best. If you can work out transportation, (car rental, taxi, of resort shuttle) the Lucayan straw market is only a 5-10 drive away and is the main place on the island to go for restaurants, some nightly entertainment, and shops. It’s a place where they take cruise ship people. It would be about a 50-60 minute walk from the resort. A beach is about a 25 minute walk. Regarding the timeshare presentation, at your age and not being married, they probably wouldn’t let you do it. If you can and want to spend a couple of hours listening to a sales pitch to get some meal vouchers and a few other perks, say yes and do it, but be prepared to tell the representatives that you are not buying into it - several times. If you just want to just relax on your trip, tell the person who will try to get you to go to the presentation when you check into the resort that you aren’t doing it. Don’t be talked into it. To be honest, the freebies (which aren’t all totally free) and free breakfast they offer for sitting through the presentation and dealing with a couple of sales people are not worth it. One other suggestion, since you mentioned it in your question. Leave the debit card at home as many places won’t accept them overseas. Credit Cards are more widely accepted, definitely in Grand Bahama. Be sure there are no international fees with your credit card or you wind up paying more. Sorry I went on, but hope some of the info helps.

Hello Laura I have just come from the Ocean reef yacht club and resort. Please note that this is not a fancy yacht club but a small resort offering moorings for boats as a way of making money to help the time share resort. However they do have plenty of slips for boats coming over just for a few days besides those that come on a yearly basis and stay on their boat for longer. There are facilities which boaters can make use of as much as the land bound guests!! Price for slip will vary depending on the season so best check it out with the resort itself by phone or email and get a price before going there to secure the mooring. As mentioned this is primarily a small timeshare resort and at times lacking in refurbishments which are tacky and old for example due to hurricane the nice hut which offered authentic food by the quite pool has not been rebuild but left unused! The current restaurant on site is ok but you get a variety from downtown which is a taxi ride away same for going to a descent beach. You are also able to hire a car from the resort. So best to let you know these things. The main thing is that Getting in and out for the day with the 30 foot boat is no problem. So hope you have a pleasant trip wherever you decide to stay in the Bahamas and hope you liked this reply

"Don't book here."
"their sample rooms on the ground floor are massive. yet still lack kitchen amenities"
"Our bedroom was fairly dusty on the tv and several areas on the wall. And the fan. Just a heads up to check the rooms for that! "
