My wife and I just returned from a week at Caneel Bay Resort in the US Virgin Island National Park on St John. From the moment we stepped off the plane till our return we were pampered in a very quiet and efficient manner. The reservation, concierge, and front desk staff are the best we've encountered. The ferry crew, Dive...

The beaches and grounds at this resort are beautiful and deserve 5 stars. There is good snorkeling right off the beach, and snorkel gear is complimentary for guests. It would be hard not to see a sea turtle on your trip. The food, while expensive, is excellent. Unfortunately the management and service were very disappointing. There was a large group...

Dear Katherine M, Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor, and please allow me to apologize for your disappointments. I regret that after numerous attempts to contact you directly, both in person and by the notes left in your room, that we were unable to speak directly. It was our hopes that we had rectified your initial concerns, and that...

Caneel Bay is probably one of the most beautiful places I have visited so far. Everywhere you look you are surrounded by nature. They have tons of donkeys and deers walking around the grounds of the resort, and the beaches are the stunningly beautiful. The place is really designed for you to enjoy nature as much as possible. They do...

Caneel Bay Resort is located on St John island which is a nature preserve. I spent a week there with friends. It took me four days to realize that the rooms do not have television or phones. The resort has a fleet of kayaks and small sailboats as well as snorkeling gear. There is a dive shop on site. If...

Caneel Bay has been on our radar screen for over ten years but we never booked a trip because of the cost. It was hard for us to imagine that it could be worth it but this year we decided to splurge on Caneel in celebration of a major birthday. Let me tell you: IT IS WORTH IT. ROOM: We...

Although this venerable property has not been affiliated with Laurence Rockefeller's former RockResorts hotel company for many years, his original concept and dedication to eco-conservation continues to be embraced by the current ownership. First of all, this is an enormous property, comprising 170 acres of beautifully landscaped park which, to put into perspective, is roughly twice the size of the...

Wake up to the sun rising over a private beach 50' from your window. Walk out for a morning swim is glass still water before a stroll through the resort grounds to breakfast, stopping to watch deer, donkeys and iguanas who live in the resort.

This is the hotel that A List celebs frequent when they come to St John but the amazing thing is that the staff treats all the guests the same no matter what kind of room they have booked. Certain parts of the hotel have been renovated and they are working on updating the rest. I had a court side room...

This is our forth time at Caneel in 3years. We are a party of six including two grandparents, two parents and two children ages four and six. We have always liked Caneel but this time the staff seemed much friendlier and attentive, particularly the housekeeping staff and some of the more senior wait staff. We stayed for eleven days and...

Recently returned from a week at Caneel Bay Resort. Went to St. John last year while staying in St. Thomas and really liked the area. Decided to give Caneel Bay a try. This resort is pricey but well worth it. Stayed in a Garden View Room. The room was spacious and clean. No it wasn't the Ritz, but at a...
