I loved this place. It sits on top of the hill with a danish fort as the centerpiece. The view is probably the best on the island. Our room was great and looked out over the harbor. All of the people that work there were friendly and made or stay a pleasure. The on premises restaurants were fantastic. The spanakopita... More

I wasn't sure what to expect after reading all of the conflicting reviews. Something that helped clear up everything was the fact that this is a timeshare resort. One of the dresser drawers and bathroom cabinet doors didn't close all the way. The views are excellent, but not necessarily from the front of your room. Some have complained about the... More

All staff is very helpful, beautiful ambiance and amazing view! The property is much like an antique castle full of details, caninos, pool and 2 restaurants. Rooms are fully equipped with a fridge, coffee maker, dish washing area. Rooms have a confortable balcony where you can sit and see the BEAUTIFUL view of the city.

Bedroom was big and had a full kitchen, but failed in the most important thing, THE BED. It had a thin, hard and uncomfortable mattress that gave us severe back pain two days in a row. Overall the staff was friendly except for the receptionist, which is sad cause it's the first and most important impression, she was rude and... More

We have a studio time share here. It has a mini kitchen with a full size fridge, so we go to the grocery and stock up on breakfast, lunch and snacks. There are several restaurants on site. Banana Leaf is on of the best on island. People do dress for that one. Tropicasual, meaning no shorts or t-shirts is required.... More

We stayed in one of the hotel style buildings and had the most amazing view of Charlotte Amalie. It was a very warm week and our air conditioning barely worked but that didn't diminish our stay. A lot of time was spent out and about on the islands, but it was very convenient the night we were just too tired... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bluebeard's Castle is an historic property dating back to the 1600's. The resort occupies an entire hilltop with spectacular views overlooking the harbor and town of Charlotte Amalie. Its signature red rooftops are among the first sights for arriving cruise passengers. The resort includes a centuries-old fortress bearing the name "Bluebeard," after the infamous pirate, and check-in takes place in the former residence of the Danish governor of the island. This tropical paradise is the perfect place for a private getaway as it is set on a secluded hilltop and overlooks the harbor of St. Thomas. Bluebeard's Castle is centrally located in the most desirable part of the island with world class shopping minutes away. With only a short drive from some of the most popular beaches in the Caribbean where you can enjoy boating, scuba diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. The island itself offers a wonderful assortment of duty-free shopping, world-class restaurants (including the top-rated ROOM WITH A VIEW on location!), hot night spots, and a variety of local flavor to satisfy every taste. This resort features history, breathtaking views, and easy access to town. Beaches are literally minutes away so you can visit them all including easy ferry rides to St. John and the British Virgin Islands (Tortola and Virgin Gorda). You will see why owners at the resort are passionate about their units. It is this passion that will once again be the reason that Bluebeard's Castle will become a sought after destination resort. Many lucky RCI members will take advantage of this now! The resort is in the midst of a historic multi-million dollar remodel that will change all that you have heard. The proof is found in our regular maintenance reports as well as our news and picture sections. Also, schedules of on-resort dining are now posted in these reports. Owners are excited about what the future holds and you should be as well. Spread the word. ... more   less
