First, let’s put things in perspective. This resort was devastated by the hurricane in 2017. They spent millions of dollars in three years redid the entire resort with updated swimming pools rooms and pretty much all the facilities redone. Shortly after the opening Covid hit and they basically had no visitors to the island for several months. Despite all of this they’ve been able to provide an excellent experience for their guests. First, All of the safety measures observed and I felt very safe at the resort. The ground and facilities are first rate. The service is exceptional and the staff are extremely friendly. There were some gaps in housekeeping and the Bell service but all in all the service e was above and beyond what could be expected for a resort that been through so much. The food at all the restaurants was very good especially the Italian restaurant I’m fairly picky about Italian food. The concierge service was very good as well. All in all it was an excellent experience

We have now stayed here twice once in January and a second time in February. Yes we came back one month later because we had such a great experience and the second time is even better then the first. The best service the nicest staff. EVERY Staff member says hi and asks how you are doing when they pass you. No where else have we ever been that staff that are usually in the background are engaging in such a caring and positive way. It shows how well this location is ran. It all starts at the top and the hospitality and attention to detail is at every level. The restaurants are delicious. The pool and pool staff are fantastic. We have a 2 year old daughter and she loves this place as well. There are 2 pools so there is an adult pool and a very family friendly pool with a waterside and a beach entrance (the pool starts at ground level and you walk in deeper like in the ocean) so it’s great for kids of all ages. They have toys for kids to borrow and great drinks for adults. Try this amazing place. You will be ecstatic. Ask the staff and they’ll make almost anything happen for you. We will be back!!!!

The Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas is truly a wonderful and luxurious property with outstanding service. My husband and I are currently staying here for five nights and had the opportunity to experience all of the resort amenities and activities so far. First, I will say that I disagree with all of the reviews that complained about the service at this hotel. I have stayed at multiple luxury Ritz Carlton and Marriott properties and therefore I do have some great experiences to compare this resort to. I don’t know what kind of unrealistic expectations are being set by people who complained, but I can confirm that we encountered at least two dozen employees and every single one of them was professional, caring, and quick to respond to all of our requests. Something that visitors need to keep in mind here is that the culture of the island is more laid back and being impatient is not an option, as everyone here is on “Island Time.” Checking in was a breeze and fortunately, our room was ready right when we arrived, as we notified the hotel in advance about our arrival time and let them know the purpose of our visit was to celebrate our anniversary. Although we are Marriott Platinum Elite guests, we weren’t able to be upgraded to a larger room because the hotel was fairly busy. This was completely understandable due to the situation. Instead we were placed on a waiting list in case a room did become available. However, the Guest Relations Manager, Geffen Vinogradov, made sure our stay was a pleasant one and planned some thoughtful surprises for our anniversary. He definitely deserves to be recognized, as my husband and I really appreciated him for going above and beyond for us. His high level of care and ensuring guests are enjoying their time at the resort is unlike anything else we’ve ever experienced. Thank you to him and his team members, as it is evident that the staff here cares about their hotel guests. As far as the property features and amenities, the Ritz Carlton is perfect in every way. The rooms are the cleanest we have ever seen, as well as all other areas of the hotel. This property did an outstanding job updating and enhancing the rooms. We made several Housekeeping requests using the Marriott app and all of them were fulfilled in a timely manner. The beach and pool were the icing on the cake here. I appreciated that there were multiple pools to separate the adult couples from the families. It was so peaceful and quiet sitting on the beach and poolside. My husband and I tried out the different water sports and loved every second of our snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding adventures in the pristine turquoise water. If you’re planning a couples or family getaway to St. Thomas, I would highly recommend this lovely property. Looking at the pictures posted here, you can see why the Ritz Carlton is a top-notch resort. We love this property so much that we hope to come back again very soon!

My wife & I and another couple stayed here a few nights last week. We all agreed that it was a sub-par Ritz, especially for the amount of points we had to lay out, and that we probably would not stay there again. The service team, although very hospitable, seemed understaffed. It took an hour to get lunch at Sails, the poolside restaurant. Speaking of lunch, the food was just okay, or typical Marriott hotel food. The "adult" only pool was hardly that. There were plenty of screaming kids in & out of it all day long, which pretty much limited us to the beach. The beach is nice but would have loved to enjoyed the infinity pool. Don't bother renting a private poolside cabana unless you want to hear screaming kids all day. The hot tub was open but tiny & hidden away. If you walk by it & blink you'll miss it. It too was filled with kids at times. The rooms were nice however despite some discolored grout in the shower. Also the previous guest left trash in a drawer next to the fridge/coffee maker area so housekeeping missed that. Overall it's a mediocre property. Spend your Bonvoy points elsewhere..

My husband and I had very high hopes for our stay this past weekend. We were celebrating my birthday and my husband previously zoomed with the club manger before we arrived to arrange our trip. Once we arrived, no one greeted us or took us to check in despite the fact that there as a group of staff just talking nearby, I was feeling a bit ill from the hilly drive over to the hotel, no one offered us water or a rum punch which should be included in the high resort fee. After check in we were taken to the club, again upon arrival no one was there to great us or offer a drink. They just dropped us off with our luggage and told us to go in. Considering we are platinum members we were hoping our room would be ready upon arrival- which as 330pm, however the room was not ready until 5pm. The manager of the club did come over to us to apologize for the room being ready so late and treated us to dinner. But it was just a pre cursor for the lackluster service that was offered. When we finally made it to our room, we waited 30 minutes for our luggage to arrive, however it never came and my husband had to go down himself, retrieve it and bring it up- while staff nearby were watching him struggle with the luggage. We also displaced our mask and asked the club staff for a spare and there were no extra masks on sight? seems very odd considering many people lose their mask on the beach. We recently stayed at the four season Orlando and by every entrance there were masks for the guests. A staff in the club told me she would find one for me so I could enter the club, however that never happened. The grounds are beautiful and facilities are very well kept, however the service just takes forever. It took over an hour for cake that we ordered from room service to celebrate my birthday. We also asked for candles and matches- which failed to arrive and had to wait another 45 min for the candle and match. The club is very well set up, the food however is more like a Marriott. There is no cold coffee or staff making you coffee- it is simply a coffee machine like they have in many offices. The desert offering is just a continuation of the dinner service. By 745pm they ran out of cake and there was no desert offering. Having been to many RC clubs, it is unusual not to have multiple deserts and a beautiful setup for the 8-10pm dessert offering... There were a few other issues as well with service- but overall I would say the Ritz Carlton is a beautiful property but save your money on club. Not worth it and don't expect top notch service. We stayed in room 340 feb 19-21. I happy we tried the RC ST, but we will most likely be returning to RC Cayman Islands.
