We chose Tropical Hideaway to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.Fortunately we were able to book Hibiscus Cottage which more than delivered on its claim to be the Number1 holiday property in all of St Vincent and the Grenadines. The cottage is absolutely beautiful and furnished to the highest standards with panoramic views to die for.Every conceivable accessory is provided including an extremely generous welcome pack. The superb kitchen provides the facility for your own catering if you do not wish to eat out. The shop offers fresh produce, everyday items,a great range of wines and spirits and barbecue meats and fish. All at supermarket prices. In addition there are also home cooked meals which can be ordered on the cooking day or frozen. We had the Chicken Curry and Teriyaki Chicken which were superb. We chose to have breakfast everyday cooked to order and absolutely excellent. The infinity pool is wonderful with fantastic views,a swim up bar and the facility to store your own drinks in the poolside fridge to use at your own convenience. This is a 5 Star + experience with lovely staff and Martin and Julie are the ideal hosts who cannot do enough for you. We have already booked for 2022. We visited in February 2019 and our review did not register then so we are submitting it now.

Hotel's Favourite
We had stayed at Tropical Hideaway before, about 4 years ago. We have had a difficult 2019 and decided that we badly needed a break ,especially after a busy Christmas and little to look forward to during the dark days of winter. I looked everywhere on the internet and all through Trip Advisor to find a suitable and special place, for warmth, comfort, peace and rest. in the end of course there was really no other choice than to book in again at Tropical Hideaway! The only mistake was to book only for 8 days and not for longer. I would now always recommend at least 2 weeks if flying from Europe. We were offered The Pool House. We booked quite late and we had previously stayed at the beautifuly appointed Hibiscus cottage which is quite understandably the most popular unit at TH. We were amazed at the amount of space and comfort we had in the Pool House which I would estimate is very nearly twice the size of Hibiscus. It has two outside verandas both with the fabulous commanding sea view for which TH is renowned. It has cooking facilities matching any full on kitchen. My wife is a wonderfu and very willing cook and this for her was a high priority. We slept fitfully and soundly in what must be to most comfortable king size bed in the Caribbean. Our towels and linen were changed when required our accommodation cleaned and tidied also. I swam a couple of times every day in the world class infinity pool which, although TH was full that week, I had to myself. The warm sunshine seeped into our bodies and the sunsets revived our spirits. Martin and Julie did everything to make our time at TH comfortable and perfect in every way, booking trips and taxies and offering good local advice when asked. They even shared a meal, that they cooked, with us! Their shop on site now at TH is a cornucopia of delights, wine occupies one whole wall and two massive fridge freezers offer home made ready meals and fish and meat steaks. Breakfast is now served every morning at a small extra cost with lots of choice to satisfy a large or small appetite. You can happily stay at TH and never venture out if that is your desire and as the days unfold and the peace of Bequia seeps into your usually busy being, rushing about seems less and less of a priority. That is not to say that there is little to do in Bequia. I had a days deep sea fishing with Wayne and Gunno the taxi driver drove us all over with Dee Dee the water taxi lady taking us from dingy dock to and from the well known Jack's bar on Pricess Margaret Beach. Yes we had a wonderful few days and next year we WILL have more wonderful days. So you search the internet all you like but I promise you, you will not find a more agreeable, high end, boutique hotel anywhere in the Carribean. You will love the beauty of the place the friendliness of the people and you will wish to return. Some do again and again and so will we.

We have been to Tropical Hideaway many times before and have always preferred low season. This time we arrived on May 15th w/AA flight 2099 out of Miami. It arrived a little after 2:20 and we quickly cleared both customs and the medical/Covid check in; which allowed us to catch the 4pm ferry to Bequia. By 5:30, our bags were in the Poolhouse Suite and we both had welcoming rum punches. T.H. is as it has always been, one of the most beautiful destination in the Caribbean, run by two of the most gracious hosts you will ever meet in your lives. Fortunately for us (unfortunately for Martin & Julie and the staff) we are the only ones here. So we were able to use the fabulous infinity pool during our 48 hour quarantine period for those who have been vaccinated. And of course the full size fridge in the Poolhouse was stuffed with everything we pr-ordered. A majority (I suspect) of those of you who will read this have already been here at least once. And I say to you simply that this is now the time to come. The weather is perfect and we have never seen so few tourists in Bequia. And of course, there are no cruise ships disgorging hundreds of people to mill about aimlessly in Port Elizabeth or crowd onto Princess Margaret Beach. We went to Mac’s on Tuesday and had an early dimmer at Petra’s in Lower Bay on Thursday. Each time there was only one other person there. As I write this, my wife and I still have 2 weeks of our three week stay left. We’re dining at Sugar Reef, Fernandos and probably Papa’s as well. Most places are open, although during limited hours. And we are most definitely not having any problem with reservations. I am writing this review now, while still here, because this is just such a remarkable opportunity to come to T.H. and Bequia. T.H. also has some fantastic deals with the latest one being that if you have been vaccinated and book for seven nights, your first two nights in quarantine are free. The volcano in St Vincent appears to have quietened down. Barbados and St Lucia actually had much more ash fall than Bequia. And frankly, I do not understand the US government warning about the virus here, as Bequia has had few/zero cases while 154 people have died in my GlynnCo, GA home. AA is flying on Saturdays only out of Miami to St Vincent and SVG has also resumed Saturday service from Barbados to Bequia. The island is at it’s best, the dollar in your pocket goes a long way and the locals are genuinely friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a vacation, we can highly recommend Bequia and T.H.

We live in Northeastern USA and traveled as a couple. We are not frequent travelers, but like to explore new places every four or five years. We last vacationed in Bequia and visited the surrounding islands. We stayed with Martin and Julie of Tropical Hideaway for two weeks. Over the years their family has put enormous, hands-on effort into making this a five star getaway. They have a pulse on worldwide and local environmental concerns and really work to make changes. It impressed us that they really care for their employees, their community, and the world. We stayed in the Infinity Studio and found it beautiful, relaxing, convenient, private, airy, and quiet. The outdoor space with hammock, table and chairs, expanded our space even more. The grounds were brilliantly designed. The striking salt water infinity pool/bar is just steps away from our door, but out of sight. We enjoyed views of the bay as we soaked every day. The onsite store has everything you need to eat in, and stay put. Our studio kitchen was well equipped. We had everything we needed. Gunno and Lency’s taxi were excellent, but we often chose to hike to and from TH for the exercise. The stairs and pathways are well cared for and a moderate workout. Montreal Gardens was a memorable day trip to the north in St Vincent. To the south, we enjoyed a swim with turtles in Tobago Cays with Michael Tours. The tour took us to Mayreau for excellent Mahi Mahi and an exquisite beach! The people we met in St. Vincent and the Grenadines appreciate the beauty and peacefulness of their Islands. How beautiful that even when they have less materially, they were always ready to laugh with us, teach us, feed us, and share their treasures (waterfalls, gardens, fruit off their trees, and dive spots, to mention a few) We are saddened to learn the impact of COVID and the eruption of Soufriere hit these kind, friendly people so hard. When travel becomes safe for you, we highly recommend visiting the Tropical Hideaway.

Tropical Hideaway was a fantastic resort during a difficult year for everyone. Covid 19 has changed everyone's life over the past year. Having the option to stay at this beautiful resort was a blessing. Quarantine for 10 plus days was made a lot more acceptable with a Suite the size of a small home! The Penthouse suite gave us space, inside and outside living. Beautiful views of the harbor of Bequia, and beyond. Martin and Julie were most gracious as host during this no contact period. They both were generous with each and every request. They made sure we had all food requests for our own cooking in the suite, as well as offering fresh cooked bread and meals at our request. Drinks were of no issue either. Martin makes a fantastic Rum Punch, and the wine and liquor selection was more than expected. The fact that we had nothing to want for was no less than amazing. We also had the option of ordering from the few restaurants that were open in town. The driver Gunno was more than accommodating when asked to pickup and deliver such orders for us. We soon became friends! Once out of quarantine, we had use of the infinity pool and grounds. All of which are beautiful! There isn't anything that would have made this trip any better. We had the privilege of getting a tour of all the cottages, suites, etc on property. There isn't a single one that I wouldn't want to stay in. They are all beautifully done and very private. I am definitely keeping Bequia and Tropical Hideaway in my mind for a return trip! Truly great property and your hosts will soon become friends!
