We stayed for 2 weeks at this hotel which was located adjacent to the south end of Pinney beach. Our room had a fridge and cooking facilities for self serve meals while the on site restaurant provided meals on our eat out days. The beach is the best on Nevis stretching over 3 miles, (5 km). Our room overlooked the bay looking up the beach towards the Four Seasons Resort. The sound of the ocean was nice at night as were the sunsets from the beach. After spending a week on St Kitts, we were reluctant about a long stay on Nevis because most accommodations are expensive for working class people like us. I'm sure you have seen the prices if you have done some research. We found that many of the cheaper guest houses, like the Sea Spawn and Fort Ashby, were closed. We are not even sure the listing above (Pinney's Cottages and Apts) is the same property describing the hotel we stayed at, (Pinney's Beach hotel). The hotel we stayed at was definitely open and operating while Google images has a picture from about the same location which says "defunct hotel". The cottages beside the hotel were closed but the hotel was open! Perhaps Trip Advisor will clarify this confusion in the future. Pinney's Beach Hotel has a web site listing rack rates but if you contact the hotel directly you can get a better deal if you are staying more than a few days. We got a weekly rate which roughly worked out to-stay 5 nights, get 2 free. It was only because of this deal that we ended up staying 2 weeks! (We initially had planned 3 or 4 nights on Nevis if we could'nt find reasonably priced accommodation). We looked at several rooms before picking the room we stayed at. Although some may consider the decor a bit dated, we thouroughly enjoyed our stay and felt safe staying here. Some days we didn't even drive our car since the beach was right beside. The hotel had a bar and pool area on the days we stayed on site. Nevis is a small island, and this location was great for short day trips to Charlestown, Fort Charles, the hot springs, (free of charge, in town just below the closed Bath Springs hotel, the Source hiking trail, (located beside the Golden Rock Inn), views of Montserrat and Redonda, (on the east side of the island) and a look at some of the old plantations. Long morning and evening walks on Pinney's beach were very enjoyable as was the deep water swimming. Many of the palm trees you see in old pictures of Nevis are now gone since a virus attacked the island in the mid 2000's. There are many palms still located around the Four Seasons Resort, I presume some money was involved to keep them alive. However, the beach, tan sand and deep water swimming is still a great experience. I'm glad we came because we would agree that this is one of the best beaches in the Carribean, (and we have been to 16 islands so far). We had a car rental which made getting around easy. There is now even a car ferry from St. Kitts, (Sea Bridge), which cost us 95 EC$ each way, (about $36US for car, driver and passenger)- super deal! There are also many daily passenger ferry trips from St Kitts to Charlestown. The dock is about 2km from this hotel and we saw many of the day trippers at our hotel since the hotel parking lot is the short cut to Pinney's beach.

We stayed there in 2010 and it was so nice we got married there. So going back, we booked 2 ocean view rooms almost 2 months in advance. According to their website ocean view is $99 per night. They told us $120 so we had to point out the website price to get the $99 to start with. We were told we would get an email confirmation which never came so we called a few times to confirm, the last time being the day before our trip. We were told not to worry. We got there and not only were our rooms not ready, the only rooms they had to rent, they said (place was empty) were awful. As the manager showed us around, each room was worse than the last. We were tired and the airline (Liat) lost some of our luggage so we just picked the best one and stayed the night. We were told we had to pay the same rate as the rooms we booked, even though they didn't have ocean view. They didn't have any appliances, not even a fridge, no mirror or electrical outlets in the bathrooms and no surfaces to place anything, so everything we had went on the floors. The balconies had no chairs and the beach at the balconies was littered with trash. For a place with no hot water, they have alot of nerve charging $99 per night US to begin with. We asked them to bring us at least bar fridges and they promised to the next day. When we returned the next day from having to travel to St. Kitts to get our luggage, it was evening and there were still no fridges in our rooms. We found a really nice place called Philsha's with kitchens, hot water and on and on. I am writing a review on it. Pinney's made us pay a "2 night minimum" which is wrong considering they did the "bait and switch" with us. We got soaked $400 US for 1 night for rooms that were not worth $15. We found out the place is in receivership and the management company is the problem.

We stayed at the Pinney's Beach Hotel, had a deck right on the sea, suites are all private with private entrances, stone and tile, gorgeous luscious plants all over. Staff were incredible, even did our laundry and we didn't ask ! We loved it here so much that it was like home, and we decided to get married there. Really gorgeous place right on Pinney's Beach and only about $60 US per night. We will stay only there when we go to Nevis in the future. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever had away from home.
