This place is truly the Caribbean dream. A wonderful old plantation house set in lovely gardens with a pretty pool and a great restaurant. We stayed in Goosepen (all the cottages are individually named) which was beautiful with a lovely sitting area, beautiful bedroom and large bathroom. The highlight was the private covered deck at the rear which backed onto... More

Third vists. Still as charming as always. Comfortable, friendly and more like home than a hotel. And You must accept that ithe Hermitage is a family home....including the new addition of Tuffy, beware your flip flops. .I would like a non al la carte option at dinner though, as occasionally a lighter option would have been appreciated. Breakfast is lovely.... More

We have just returned from a fantastic 10 days at The Hermitage. Everything that has been previously praised in reviews is absolutely true! The accommodation and grounds are stunning. The friendly, welcoming atmosphere is second to none. The family are so interesting and interested in their guests. The famous hog roast was delicious but in my opinion the a la... More

This was our 3rd time staying at The Hermitage, even if it was only for a weekend. We stayed in the Gatehouse this time. Richie and his excellent staff do a great job taking care of their guests. We were there for pizza night on a Friday and it is very good. We will be back to stay at The... More

I didn't actually stay at The Hermitage but my mom had on a prior business trip. I went for breakfast - the french toast is sooo good. Later, I just dropped in to see if I could go on a horseback ride with a guide and they called someone in to take me out. It was so nice of them,... More

The Hermitage is the best of Nevis resorts. It is family-run, with great attention to every comfort and satisfaction of its guests. The grounds are lush with trees and other vegetation of all sorts. The cabins, quite varied in their appearance and layout, are in a lovely Colonial style, and very well appointed. The pool is very nice and well-cared-for.... More

We spent a week at the Hermitage Inn with family members and loved every minute of it. The staff was so friendly and the food was the best! Cottages were beautiful and breezy. It was so nice not to have televisions and enjoy the simpler life. We all decided we want to go back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at Hermitage. The staff are so warm and friendly and the food is great. The cottages are airy and our sleep quality was excellent in the huge bed. The whole place is spotless and very clean. We loved the old world charm, the antique furnishings and its position on the side of Nevis mountain. The... More

I new nothing if this place as my wife's friend had booked our stay so I assumed it was a B&B, little did I know that this was by far the loveliest boutique hotel/inn/guest rooms place (it's difficult to pigeon hole) that I have ever been too. (Visit the website but even that doesn't do it justice). We had 10... More

We had lunch on the veranda , and thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect place to try the local dish, roti--a curry wrap. Would love to go back for drinks at the bar with it's cool, old horseracing theme/art. This whole property had a nice, laid-back vibe. Didn't go in any, but the cottages looked nice. Everything appeared clean, well-maintained and managed.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hermitage is a small plantation inn with an excellent reputation for its charm and warm, West Indian hospitality. The guest rooms are like gingerbread cottages and are styled after the old Planter’s house with a tradition of elegant West Indian style, antiques, mahogany four poster canopy beds, and private verandahs, with swaying hammocks, in an orchard like setting of mango trees and tropical plants. The Hermitage offers tranquility and serenity in its peaceful environment. ... more   less
