This property is one of the most maintained i've seen on the island. very clean and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. the beach front is very long and the rocky areas provide many opportunities to find sea-life (shells, crabs, sea urchins, etc)....More
My wife and I enjoy the seclusion and privacy of The Grandview. We love to sit down by the pool or on the beach and read books. The staff is great and it is always very clean. Max and his staff takes care of all...More
I booked 4 rooms sight unseen last fall after we were not able to return to the place we had stayed before. We arrived at night so I was unable to see the grounds and beach. When I woke in the morning, I couldn't believe...More
A map will tell you the location is excellent, but it won't tell you about the great staff and the accommodations. When you meet Max, Kenesha and Jessica you know they really want you to enjoy your stay. Our two bedroom unit was well equipped,...More

It depends on how fit you are, and how you handle the heat. There is a grocery store less than a 10 minute walk away (closed on Sundays), and we pretty easily walked into the center of George Town (about a 30 minute walk). There are also several restaurants within a 20 minute walk in both directions. You could get by without a car, if you don't mind walking in the heat, and you don't want to see the rest of the island. As for the beach, if you pick your way through the rocks, you can actually get into the ocean and swim a bit at one small piece of the condo beach (you can also easily splash your feet in the water on the sand, if that's all you want to do). The public beach is a 5-10 minute walk along the beach to the North (you have to look for the rock path around a bit of a wall, but it's there). If you get a car, there is plenty of parking, and driving on the island isn't bad at all, if you can handle being on the English side of the road.

You might want to rent a car for the day you take the remote excursions, but we did not. The taxi service is incredibly dependable and reasonable ... just call in advance, specify a pickuptime, and they'll be there! Our most expensive cab ride was $40 and that was a north island tour, ending at the bird sanctuary and Italian restaurant up there, which, by the way, was great! Very walkable location both into town and up the boulevard and hotel row on Seven Mile Beach.
