We spent the first week of May at the Simpson Bay villas. We had 2 - 2 bedroom villas for 8 of us. 4 bedroom and 4 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. Plenty of space to relax. The rooms were clean and spacious with beautiful decor. They were stocked with dishes and utensils for all that we needed. The views from every balcony were breathtaking. Easy access to the beach and pool. One on-site restaurant (replay) was closed for remodeling. La Patrona was open for delicious Mexican cuisine for dinner and a nice breakfast buffet for breakfast. Service was great everywhere throughout the resort and its restaurants except for the beach bar. The bartenders and waitresses at that bar were not friendly and service seemed slow. The pool bar and La Patrona had great service. Room service was great too! We even enjoyed isola the Italian restaurant by the casino and the casino on site was fun too. Overall a very pleasant stay at Simpson Bay resort and villas.

Great stay and property, almost all staff was great a few hear and therre were not at friendly. The rooms in the villas were great, we had a 1 bd room ocean front and it was done very nicly. My only1 minute walking away so that was nice also and they delived results to room. complaint is that the matteresses are very hard otherwise no complaints at all. Easy acess to walk to bars and resturauants. the covid test lab was nice and they delived results to front desk the same or next day. Just check what day you need it becuase the lab is closed on some days and only does tests from 5 to 7pm.

This is a bittersweet visit to Sint Maarten as my wife passed away from COVID in late January. She and I had contracted to purchase a beachfront condo in December, and had flights to come to SXM for a month starting mid-January. We live in NW Ohio and really loved coming here to escape winter. My son and his wife arranged to accompany, and I had wanted to show them the best of the island. During check in on Saturday we were assigned a room that wasn’t what I wanted, and my request for a different room went unheeded. Monday morning (early) we got a personal call from the GM Marcel Javois who had discovered that we were not 100% satisfied, and he arranged for us to move to an ideal unit. He didn’t have to do that because we had contracted for a unit to be assigned at check in. We had asked for certain parameters, but were not promised that the request would be honored. Many places and managers would have let that be the end of it, but Simpson Bay Resort is blessed with people who care! I can never express enough gratitude for the care we have received. The facility is wonderful and I am so comforted to be here with my family sharing this wonderful friendly island with the next generation. 🌞

This was our 4th stay here. Room: Newly renovated Junior suite ocean view. Has 2 double beds, kitchenette (no stove), new patio furniture (small patio but adequate). A hot shower was hard to come by Beds: nice bedding but extremely hard beds. Not good for side sleepers. I woke up many mornings with hip pain. The positive is that they are new beds... Cleanliness: Room was very clean and housekeeping cleans on 3rd day of your stay. Food: We paid an extra $22/day for two people to have the breakfast buffet at La patrona. The choices are Mexican inspired, with refried beans, plantain, chicken tamales, potatoes, eggs, fresh squeezed juices. Next time I will just pay for breakfast a la carte. Location: there is a convenience store on the property, a grocery store down the hill, several restaurants along main road down the hill. Its walkable but definitely not an easy one. Casino, a piano bar with no cover charge, and Italian and Mexican restaurant are all on the premises. Beach: we were always able to find a palapa no matter what time we arrived. The beach workers will set up the loungers for you (please be generous and tip the guys). There is also a beach bar and service right to your chair. The water is beautiful, sand is a little Shelly, some may prefer water shoes. If it wasn't for the hard beds and limited hot water, our stay would have been perfect. I dont understand why the new beds are hard as a rock!
