Pasanggraham Hotel This hotel has an excellent location right off the beach in Phillipsburg Sint Maarten. My sister and I stayed here this past New Year’s Eve. Ms. Colbert Phillips was very helpful in making the arrangements for our stay. The third-floor suite was quite large with every amenity a person could want. The room was very clean and the...

I'm thrilled with my stay at The Pasanggrahan. The location is close to several attractions on Front Street and near Back Street—restaurants, jewelry & clothing shops, liquor stores, some small casinos, and of course the beach and boardwalk. The cruise ship port is close by and it was fun seeing which ships where coming in each day. Taxis are easy...

I had to stay here for a night because of my work. I arrived around 11pm and was checked in by 2 security people. A female and a male named Mr. Noble. They were both very kind and helpful. They have food apparently but only until 10.30pm i think. However you can get food delivered after that time. I had...

Hotel on cruise ship stop we're here one day before embarking on cruise. nice old building from 1905 but let down by poor service, cheap towels, bedding etc. In a busy spot with locals hanging outside of the room day and night. Difficult to enjoy the patio. Convenient to marina.

Arrived at the Royal Pasanggahran Guest House on Front Street in Phillipsburg around 10:40pm. We were dismayed at the outside of the hotel from the Front St. entrance (under construction?), but were pleasantly surprised at the inside of the hotel, entrance from beach and our fabulous room in the new section that was more like a suite. There was a...

Having made reservations, we expected our table to be ready ... We were not greeted, not asked to wait, and when we had finally helped ourselves to a table, we were asked to move. The waitress tried to make us as comfortable as possible, but the start was really bad, and since it was already late, we could not leave...

The location is perfect, right on the boardwalk in phillipsburg. The hotel is OK and a bit dated. The shower was luke warm. Also right now there is light construction going on. If you want something posh, go to Holland House. If you want something reasonable right on the boardwalk, its a decent choice.

This is an older remodeled hotel that is clean and nicely furnished. I had an ocean view room and it was great seeing if a cruise ship was in port or not each morning. My room was very comfortable and nicely furnished. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. I ate mostly breakfast in the restaurant and they were...

Pasanggrahan hotel: clean, location is great, staff is kind. The front office manager, Colbert, is the best! From check in to check out, she treated us as family and made us feel welcome. We got a free upgrade to a junior suite. Great view! You ask and they make it happen.

What a beautiful experience. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the sites of the island and the service was excellent. The location is perfect. Shops in the front, the beach and the boardwalk in the back. Outstanding view of the sea, cruise ships, and the Island Sabo. Two types of rooms, our friends stayed in the newer section...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"The Pasanggrahan Royal Guesthouse is St. Maarten's oldest and most charming inn. Formerly a rooster farm, Governor's home, V.I.P. guest house, and Dutch Royal Residence, it is ideally located in Philipsburg on a white sand beach amidst enchanting tropical gardens and enclosed within its original stone walls: a green oasis hidden on Front Street. A national landmark and one of the last bastions of West Indian culture, the Pasanggrahan is secluded and offbeat in the heart of St. Maarten’s capital, and it's a minute's stroll to shops, restaurants, casinos, banks and other institutions and activities. This authentic, colonial style inn has all the special features of a larger hotel including concierge service, the Sidney Greenstreet Bar, boardwalk beach bar, complementary chaise lounges, beach towels, and social hour. “A special place for special people” General Information"This vintage West Indian-style guesthouse has a prime spot on the beach in Philipsburg, sandwiched between the busy, narrow main street of Philipsburg and the harbor. It's set back and shaded under tall trees, a charming relic from another time. In fact, this was once the summer home of the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina, and the interior has a gracious, late-19th-century feel, with peacock bamboo chairs, Indian spool tables, and a gilt-framed oil portrait of the Dutch queen. The small- to medium-size accommodations have queen-size, double, or king-size beds with four-poster designs; some are in the main building and others are in an adjoining annex. The finest have genuine colonial flair, with antique secretaries and four-posters swaddled in mosquito netting, madras valances, hand-stitched quilts, beamed ceilings, and still life paintings. Set among lush palms is the harborfront Pasanggrahan Restaurant, which specializes in fresh fish caught by the hotel's own deep-sea charter fishing boat and family-style dinners. ... more   less
