Where do I begin.... The scenery speaks for itself, but what separated this resort from the others is the hospitality. Vienney, Leah, and Rosemary, were only a handful of humble and caring staff who were beyond accommodating. Their level of service was unmatched and would without a doubt bring us back to this resort in a heartbeat. We were visiting for our honeymoon and the staff at Ladera made every single day special for us. Whether it be suggestions of where to visit or what to eat the staff was incredibly informative. In addition, Chef Nigel prepared some of the best cuisine imaginable. Not only is all the food fresh from the island, but the level of expertise in the creation of such dishes was remarkable. Several courses of fresh breads, fruit, island-made rum, fresh fish and other livestock were provided to us with exceptional service. Our last night was so memorable as Leah went the extra mile to provide us with complimentary champagne and dessert as a thanks for staying with them during this trying time. The precautions were evident throughout our stay, but we were not kept from some of the best sites. Temperature checks were necessary before each dining experience and before any excursion which added to our level of comfort. We were able to visit the beach, the sulfur springs/mud bath, go on a sailing excursion, and many other options were available to us. Not to mention the mildly challenging hike through the rain forest on the resort which helped work up an appetite for some incredible dining. 10/10 would recommend…
My husband and I spent 2 nights at Ladera during our trip to St. Lucia, and it was the highlight of our trip! The staff is so incredibly friendly, even noting when I mentioned once that mangos were my favorite fruit and making sure I had a fresh mango with my breakfast every morning! We stayed in a Hillside suite and were amazed at the well thought out architecture and attention to detail (the binoculars for watching birds and water gun were a fun touch!).. Having one wall open to incredible views was so unique, relaxing and still afforded total privacy. It was nice to just get away from the busyness of life and take in the sights and sounds of the rainforest and Caribbean. I would describe it as a very romantic, relaxing and intimate experience. The grounds are stunning!!! Beautiful plants with local fruit trees, spices and herbs growing on the property along with hummingbird feeders throughout. The Dasheen restaurant has the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen for a restaurant (both Pitons are visible), and the food is absolutely delicious. We also went to their state of the art gym and enjoyed amazing views while working out. The staff has done well at subtly putting in the COVID-19 safety protocols as required by the St. Lucian government and made it a very pleasant stay. We were able to book a private snorkeling excursion from the property. It seems water activities are open but land activities are still limited due to COVID.! I can’t recommend this place more highly. …
My wife and I wanted to get away from NYC and enjoy ourselves for a few days with a beach-type vacation. We had been given recommendations to Ladera from a friend and when we looked at the pictures online it was stunning. We decided to go with it and the pictures and the actual thing did not disappoint at all. The views from the room and from the restaurants on location were awe-inspiring, frankly, it's something you believe was only seen in magazines. The staff was incredibly kind, the food was great and its situated right next to Hotel Chocolate which was phenomenal as well. Highly recommend this resort and the island to visit. Hiking on site was great and we did some of the fitness/meditation classes which was a lot of fun with good exercise.
My husband and I got married during Covid and took a last minute mini-moon back in September, however we always felt like we needed a proper honeymoon and staying at Ladera was the BEST decision! The photos don’t do this place justice! It is way more beautiful in person. Will list below the Pros & Cons: Pros: -we stayed at the hilltop section of Ladera (room X3) which has the most unforgettable view of the petit piton (I’m sure all the rooms have an amazing view) this section of the resort is close to the main building/ restaurants on premises. -they took Covid seriously, which made us feel very at ease (daily temperature checks and can provide a Covid test for returning travelers to US on site. -staff is super attentive and kind, always greeting you with a smile or laugh. They are easy to contact with a mobile phone provided and anytime you need a service (room service or pool cleaning) all you have to do is request it on the iPad in the room, and someone always shows up within 15 minutes -we loved that you feel like you’re in a treehouse and are living with nature all around. -rooms are cleaned daily and the turndown service prepares your room for the evening making sure mosquito coils are lit and the zappers are on (FYI- I barely got any bites for sleeping outside for 3 nights) so the method is working -private pool is heated, which makes for a great night swim -breakfast can be brought to the the room for no extra charge -food- there are plenty of options for different types of dishes, and every meal we had was above average. And the drinks from the bar were very delicious! Cons: We had an amazing time so it was hard to come up with a con. The only thing I can think of was the shower in our bathroom which had weak pressure and ran hot/ cold no in between. Overall- we can’t wait to return to Ladera one day! It truly is a paradise! Thank you to the entire staff for taking such good care of us. …
This was the most amazing Valentine’s getaway. The service was absolutely amazing, the hiking trails within the property great for exercise and the views from the room were heavenly. We can’t wait to go back.
