My family and I stayed at St Lucian by Rex for the 1st time, I must say we were a bit skeptical after reading some horrid reviews. Our experience was far beyond than expected, yes the hotel needs some TLC but overall it was great. The staff made you feel very welcome - as they say 1st impression counts (big... More

We have just returned from the St Lucian and were slightly apprehensive before travelling regarding the previous reviews, however this was completely unfounded in our experience and must have been submitted by compensation grabbing imbeciles / parasites that unfortunately expect far to much and generally spoil the ambience and suck at other peoples enjoyment. Yes the hotel does need some... More

We spent 2 weeks at the St Lucian by Rex. A few rainy showers only enhanced our experience. The staff were superb - exceptionally friendly, efficient and helpful. Sincere appreciation to all and I can only recall these names (apologies to the cooks and cleaners and porters): In the Marriners/Oriental/Bar, Nisa, Tangier, Gillen, Analeess, Cathy, David, Flora, Anthea, Daniel &... Yes, the resort is showing its age a little but that didn't stop us from having an excellent stay there. The staff are lovely and a handful of them in particular really made our holiday. There was a great variety of food throughout all three of the buffet-style meals in the main restaurant (breakfast was my favourite - the pancakes... More

This was our 2nd time to St Lucia, we had originally stayed 10 years for our honeymoon. Then we stayed at the Papillon but because Virgin don't sell this holiday anymore we stayed at the St Lucian (they are next to each other but the sites have been split). Air Canada have spent a lot of money on the Papillon... More

We stayed here last week in August-first week in September and, overall, had a very good time. Yes, the hotel is a bit shabby and could do with an update but equally it was good value, the staff were mostly very friendly and the location is great. The atmosphere is relaxed and not pretentious which we like. We were happy... More

My room was a good size, sheets and towels changed daily, and the air conditioning worked! The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were well run, and there was a wide selection of dishes. The beach was good and I felt safe staying there on my own.

The location of this hotel cannot be faulted. It is right on a fabulous beach and within a short walk to the town of Rodney Bay. Unfortunately that is about all the hotel has going for it. Our first room was a disaster. One of the curtains had no lining, the other didn't cover the whole of the glass. The... More

Very shabby 1-2 star (imo) all inclusive. As stated by many previous reviewers, this place hasn't been updated for years, which is a shame as the beach / location is fantastic. Most of the staff were helpful, but food was limited, and much of the furnishings and buildings were worn out or in need of repair. I wouldn't touch it... More
