Our family of five have just returned from a gorgeous three week stay at this beautiful resort. I have to say that we do not usually write reviews but we had to for this very special resort. We originally planned to stay just 8 nights but really did not want to leave. From start to finish, Denise in reservations kindly assisted us in booking a villa that suited us and helped us to extend multiple times. Such a lovely lady who really is an asset to Windjammer. Karen was also fantastic and made us feel so looked after. The view from our gorgeous pool villa was absolutely breath taking and we really made ourselves at home (415). Every aspect of our accommodation was wonderful. The shuttle drivers are all wonderful souls and were always happy to give us a lift up to the top of the hill with sleepy children after supper (we did not realise how hilly St Lucia is). The food in the restaurants was always totally delicious and the wine and champagne also of a high standard. We alternated between Upper Deck and Papa Dons for our supper and were blown away by the service provided by Samantha and June. At breakfast we were well looked after by the fantastic Cheryl and Aaron in Dragonfly and at lunch Miguel ( a trainee) really stood out for his wonderful attention to detail and caring nature in Jammers. The spa is a very serene and relaxing space where I enjoyed a facial with Gail who is a fantastic therapist. Our eldest children who are 10 and 12 were also able to visit the spa, much to their delight. The gym and tennis courts are impressive and appear to have been recently refurbed. We spent much time in the pools and our children loved the hot tub. The Watersports team all really made our holiday extra special. The whole family learnt to waterski with Shurandi. Gordon was super knowledgeable and supportive. Jamal, Anthony, Jameson and Jamie were fabulous and super patient with our 7 year old in particular who took a few days to grasp the waterskiing. Other resorts we have stayed at previously charge to use their paddle boards and windsurf equipment but this was all included at Windjammer which was a huge bonus for our active family. My eldest son and husband enjoyed a diving trip and saw lots of beautiful fish. The beach is lovely with golden sand. Our children loved the flotation slide in the sea as well as the beach side ice cream parlour. We did a few trips outside the resort which were all well organised. The rainforest Zip line was a particular favourite. We are very much hoping that we will be able to return next December and would love for our extended family to join us. This is such a SPECIAL resort and we made many friends that we will stay in touch with. Thank you so very much Windjammer for looking after us. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.…
A great family vacation. This is an amazing resort with breathtaking views. This was our second time staying at this resort in the past five years. We went back because our family had such a great time the last time we were there. This vacation was even better than it was the first time we visited. If you are looking for a vacation with lots to do, this is the place for you. You don’t even need to leave the resort. There is so much to do on the property, but if you want to head out onto the Island there is a lot to do there as well. We were concerned about the COVID-19 virus, but once we arrived we saw all the protocols the hotel put in place to keep us safe. Everyone needed to sanitize their hands before entering any shuttle. Everyone’s temperature was taken as they entered any restaurant. Masks needed to be worn when you were in the common areas on the premises. We definitely felt safe being in the resort. Whether you just want to relax on the beach or in the villa, the views are incredible. If you want to get involved with water sports there is a lot to do. We paid for the all inclusive which included everything from food and drinks to all of the water sport activities. The all inclusive was without a doubt the way to go for us. Before we departed for our trip, we were in constant touch with Esie who is part of the Ambassador team. She answered all our questions and assisted us with making all our transfers to and from the hotel and our dinner reservations for the week. She told us about the “Whats app” which the resort uses to help make communications even easier while enjoying your vacation. When we arrived at the Resort, we were greeted by Helen who helped get us settled into our Villa and was able to accommodate all our requests. The shuttle service staff was always just a call or a “whats app” text message away. Spencer was our favorite driver who was also friendly and ready with his hand sanitizer as we boarded his shuttle. He even went out of his way to make sure grandma had a step stool to easily enter and exit the shuttle. The best part of our trip by far was the Water Sports which included daily water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, and either the banana boat or tube ride depending on the day in the late afternoon. The Water Sports team lead by Gordon were all amazing. They were all so friendly and personable and made the whole trip fun and exciting. Jn Mal and Jameson often drove the boat when we went water skiing and were always encouraging and supportive. They were always willing to give advice when we struggled to get up on the skis. It was during this time on the ski dock where all the kids bonded and made new friends. This led them to hanging out the whole week with kids their age. The rest of the Water Sports staff including Anthony, Shruandi, Jamie, Dwight, and Howard were always there to help us get out in the water on the other equipment. A special thank you to all these guys for helping us have the time of our lives. There are a few restaurants on the property to choose from. Again, the all inclusive package was a great deal because we ate and ate and ate. We ate breakfast at the Dragonfly restaurant where we had cooked to order eggs everyday. The restaurant staff, supervised by Garvin, was amazing. Garvin went out of his way to help accommodate our elderly family member who had trouble getting around. His friendly attitude and willingness to go out of his way for us was greatly appreciated. Our favorite restaurant for dinner was the Upper Deck because not only was the food amazing but Lee was an excellent server. The bar scene was also amazing. During the day, bartenders Michael and Matthew kept us hydrated and were amazing with the kids keeping them happy with their Shirley Temples. Travis was on duty at the bar both day and night during our stay and was truly amazing. He knew all our names by the end of the first day and was engaging with us everyday. He helped make our New Years Eve extra special. I would be remiss if I did not mention the amazing nurse the WindJammer Landing has on staff. Nurse Julia was an angel when our son stepped on a sea urchin and needed to be treated. She saw him daily to tend to his wound, and with her help he healed quickly. Thank you so much Nurse Julia. Whether you come from an active family or even just looking for a great place to relax, the Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia is the place to go. We are already looking forward to our next trip there.…
The setting is lovely and we were lucky enough to have a villa not too far from the beach that was great. However, the service the the restaurant was enough to deter me from ever returning! Every lunchtime it took 40 minutes for our wine to arrive. Each day they seemed very confusion about the rose we were ordering and only one bottle could be found per day. Once the search gone on for around 30 minutes it sat on the bar for a further 10 minutes before arriving at the table. Due to this we ended up eating out a lot more. Its a shame as the food was great but we wont be returning! I certainly would not call it 5* as a hotel and wasn't value for money.
Returned earlier this week from a superb family holiday at Windjammers. We were a large group (13/3 generations!) and there were activities to suit all of us. Lovely suite and villas, kept very clean. Cannot fault the hygiene/covid practices. Gorgeous bay, memory of sunsets will live on! OK, we pushed the boat out (literally!) with catamaran and snorkeling trips and fabulous zipwire rides in the rainforest. As for the staff - they were amazing and made our holiday very special. A big shout out for Junior for hard but hilarious aquarobics sessions ("Feel the burn!), Nadia, Melissa, Anthony. In fact, all of them. They are a huge asset. We still miss those smiles! Highly recommended.
To be honest the villas, pools, bars, restaurants & general facilities are all 3+ to 4 star at most in quality. But what takes this resort to a 5 star are all the staff: from John and Justin on the shuttle busses, to guys behind the bar at Embers, to June in Poppa Dons restaurant, to Lindon on the front desk, to Nick on the tour desk, to the girls at breakfast. The staff were what made our holiday such a great success, have I been to better resorts? Yes. But have I been to a resort with so many great staff? No. Thankyou Windjammer for making our 2020 Christmas and New Year break fantastic.....
