I love La Finca. It is a very special way to experience Vieques. Vieques is not your typical resort island with high rise hotels and crowded beaches. It is truly a get-a-way to another way of looking at life and La Finca exemplifies this. There is common kitchen to make your own meals with rooms and individual cabanas that invite... More

The area is calm and quiet. Is a great place to be with yourself or company. I had a great time there. It was my second visit to Vieques and I would definetly repeat. It is rustic and i was not expecting a 5 star hotel. Kitchen and bathroom were ok. Hot water and always hot coffee, fruits and breads... More

Wonderful rustic guesthouse - great hosts. In the wooded hillside area of Vieques this place sure is a getaway. Highly recommended.Nice pool, very very quiet. Archetype little Caribbean place. No modern trappings of life, just peace, quiet and good company

Thanks Stuart -- we take being "Archetype little Caribbean place" as quite a compliment! We prefer old school sweetness to those modern trappings -- and love finding folks like you -- who appreciate small, personal local businesses! Thanks for coming and sharing the love. Hope to see you again soon, -- fellow pirates at heart More

We had an amazing time during our stay in Vieques at the finca. We were visiting during the off season and had the big house to ourselves. We had everything we needed from books, cooking supplies to blankets and more. The resort care takers were super friendly and spent a few meals with us. They even shared the best tips... More

This was the third time staying on Vieques. We were too late to book the other places we stayed at so this was left. The four of us stayed in the main house ( plywood) price was high for what we got. 1st morning got up to shower ( outside in a old row of showers ) came in to... More

ugh...this review is so terrible i can help but wonder if it's legit-- the worst being that you claim we have cracks in the walls through which you can watch other guests. that's not true. we also don't have "an old row of showers", but two stalls of two, built in 2014. (not that that really matters) but most guests... More

Words cannot describe enough my love for La Finca. From the moment my taxi pulled up to the gate, I was greeted by the ever-smiling, ever-hospitable Scott & Bill. I was stunned to see how spacious of a place this was, filled with an abundance of beautiful trees and flowers. There's even a starfruit tree in the middle of the... More

My husband and I landed here for our first few nights on Vieques. It was the perfect dial-down arrival to the island. Our room was simple and cute, the common space at the Casa Grande was a lovely space to start our mornings and end our evenings. Bill & Scott were gems of hosts.

My partner and I stayed at La Finca for 5 nights - it was originally meant to be 4 but we loved it so much we extended our visit. Bill and Scott are wonderful, kind and generous hosts, and La Finca has a lovely relaxed and homely atmosphere. We loved our house- it felt like sleeping in a (spacious and... More

Bill and Scott are wonderful people! We ran out of water on the back roads of the island and stopped off to ask for some before we headed out to a remote beach for snorkeling. He came out and met us, invited us in, and showed us the wonders of the resort here! He even sent us away with a... More

Our 3 night stay at La Finca Caribe was fantastic and Bill & Scott are warm accommodating souls. We opted for the welcome dinner so we could settle in after a long day of travel. We're sure glad we did because sitting on the deck watching the sunset and having a delicious dinner was a great way to welcome us... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Vieques' most beautiful rustic getaway and original eco-tourism destination since 1995....A rare taste of the Caribbean -- the way it used to be, quiet, natural & affordable. Perfect for groups of two to thirty, workshops, family reunions, or romantic getaways for just the two of you. Anyone who likes off the beaten track and wants to experience the Caribbean the way it was meant to be: quiet, natural and affordable. Salt water pool, outdoor showers, hammocks, views and breezes. La Finca is a cluster of handmade houses -- our large wooden main house, Casa Grande, alone can sleep 18-22, but we also have two family size cabanas and two smaller casitas, all on 3 acres of fruit trees & palms, on the off-beat island of Vieques, seven miles from Puerto Rico's eastern shore; a 25 minute flight and a world away from San Juan....We're up in the hills, with beautiful views and tradewinds, three miles away from the bustle of town...Talk about getting away! We're not a hotel, or a b&b ... The finca is our family's own private "finca" that we love to share with like-minded eco travelers -- folks who like things as natural and simple as possible. Our towels don't match, our showers are outdoors (don't worry -- they're private), the skies are jet black and studded with stars, and the property is dotted in coco palms, mangoes, starfruit, bananas, and a dozen hammocks ... Tropical summer camp, quiet and beautiful. Think Swiss Family Robinson... (Please note: Feb-March 2015 renting the whole finca means all houses/cabins with exception of Cabanita and includes 10 bedrooms with 7 baths and can sleep up to 33.) ... more   less
