Just got back from our honeymoon at the Jewel. The resort itself is beautiful. Right on the sea, a bunch of different overlooks you can visit to watch the waves come in. The food was top notch. We did a private dinner in the gazebo right on the water and DeMario was a great server and made us feel like royalty (also, he's a Packers fan!). They had a great variety of (strong) Carribean drink options and you got more than your money's worth with that and the food options. Buffet had a nice variety and the pizza place was outstanding. My husband loved the outdoor coffee hut every morning. Pools were clean and resort was exceptionally well kept. Also, alot of security walking around so we felt very safe. The excursion to Konoko Falls was alot of fun. You have to be persistent though to book it or you get the run around. Every single staff member was super friendly and accomodating. We had a great time at the Sunken Treasure Bar the last night with Adaide (?) making us some delicious custom made rum shots. He even remembered us the next morning and gave us one for the road. On that note, one cavet the resort cannot control by any means, is the few obnoxious drunks we ran into that can't control their alcohol consumption. I mean, if you need to walk around with a 64oz thermos full of rum punch, you may have a problem. Considering it was my first time at an all inclusive, I wasn't prepared to handle that. Overall, a wonderful stay and couldn't ask for more.
This is the second Jewel we have been to, we have also been to the Jewel Dunn's River. Both resorts are Adults only and small so there are never any crowds The food was good, especially the Moonstruck in the evening. Best meal in the Carribean so far!! Moonstruck doubles as a Pizza place during the day that has tasty fire cooked pies. Buffet food was good, something for everyone. Service at the restaurants was quick, professional and friendly. The staff at this resort sre preoccupied with your happiness. Even the Manager was close at hand for a quick chat. The air conditioning at this resort is much better than at the Dunn's River in that they are individual by room and are easy to adjust and COLD! the bed was confortable, the accomodations clean and in order. Maintenance is done well. the installations are all in order and well kept. Lots of chairs and umbrellas. We never had a problem finding a place in the shade First time we have ever had a ground floor room that is right at the pool's edge. Perfect for a late night swim. the wind coming in off the sea was a welcome friend because it was HOT HOT HOT during our stay. The only disappointment during our stay, were the swimming areas at the beaches.Too small, and because in a deeply recessed cove, there are next to no waves and the water is a bit stagnant. Dunn's has a better swimming area but Paradise cove has a better beach. This is the place if you want to kick back and chill, and if not, take a trip in town to Margarita ville for some fun there is a free shuttle, but you have to book ahead. If we have the chance, we will be back to Jamaica because it is a great place to relax. we would gladly retun to Paradise cove, our stay was very good.
I visited in Dec of 2018. Check in was pretty easy and did not take too long. I arrived on a Friday evening around 6pm. Dewayne at the front desk checked me in and was also very very helpful throughout my stay regarding food, taxis, room key issues. I did ask for a complimentary room upgrade since this was a bday trip and was pleasantly surprised with a yes! It never hurts to ask. :)
Perks I love that this resort includes round-trip transportation from MBJ and two excursions (Konoko Falls and the Ocho Rios shopping). My concierge was Kady-ann and she was absolutely AMAZING! We first spoke on the phone when I called to inquire on the options, days, times etc. As I checked in, I went over to the concierge desk to confirm my reservation and she remembered my voice! :) She was very pleasant and helpful (letting me know what to bring and wear for konoko falls) and also informed me of the option for a lobster dinner ($35 per person). Kudos to her, she made my trip wonderful!
Food As with any all-inclusive resort, not all restaurants are open for dinner each evening. The resort will provide a newsletter each evening under your door with a list of all activities and open restaurants. Please note that you only need to make a reservation for Jade, all other options are first come, first served.
The buffet has good selections. I really enjoyed that they had a section with authentic JA food at each meal. Items such as jerk/curry chicken and goat, various types of porridge (corn meal, wheat, etc.) and ackee and saltfish on Sunday morning! There is also a great jerk shack/hut on the beach as well. They serve jerk chicken and pork daily from 12-5pm. If you grow tired of the resort food, check out Sharkies down the street for authentic JA food.
Location While you are about 75 mins from MoBay and maybe 20-30 mins from Ochi, there doesn't seem to be much to do (night life) in Runaway Bay. There is live entertainment provided each night in the buffet area. If you are looking for more excitement, be prepared to taxi into Ocho Rios.
Beach Calm water, however you may want to bring swim/aqua shoes as this area has a lot of rocks/coral. The water of course is clear and pretty, it's the Caribbean! :) Chairs and towels are provided by the resort.
Overall The resort grounds were very clean, staff was extremely polite and helpful. 24 hour security on the grounds, and my room was wonderful. The entertainment staff is also amazing and tries their best for everyone to have a great experience. I had an amazing trip and would return.
We stayed at Jewel Bay paradise cove for originally 12 nights for our honeymoon. Due to dislike in service, food, quality of food, other things we left 8 days early. The one bonus was that Hilton did give us back our points for the days missed. We are diamond members and we were extremely disappointed. Here are pros and cons: Pro: Good beach if you like calm waters. Had fun flotations in water Nice views Fun quite areas with hammocks to relax Yummy breads throughout buffets and restaurants Delicious coffee Quiet at night- if that’s something you want
Cons: Outdated rooms. No smart tv. Slippery tubs, and if you upgrade to highest room - which we did- you lose balcony which we were not informed of Limited menu selection. After 5 days we grew tired of all food as there were minimal options. Restaurants have strange hours and you can only get certain foods at certain times. Sushi bar is lacking. You can only get a certain few rolls. And they aren’t made fresh Platinum was terrible. We didn’t even finish food as some was incredibly blah and tough. Buffett was ok- but most of it was cold. Lack of waiters/waitresses coming around to fill drinks.
Overall we weren’t impressed and will not be back.
Great resort for food & service & polite help full staffBring ear plugs, over powering Sub woofers from disco Water shoes recommended in the coveJerk Chicken great, buffet is the better choice for evening meals in my opinion

Good day Sheerer, have you been in contact with the hotel or your bank to query where the card was actually charged? We will communicate this to the resort and revert after investigation. Thank you for the information
