Put it this way my husband said this was one resort he would come back to, and we have never done that, since we like to explore new places. The best beach we have ever had. The water is cystal clear, warm, and you can walk out to the bouys. We saw sting rays in the water and while walking... More

Just spent a week with friends at the Riu Palace-Negril, The resort was nicely kept, clean and tidy, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet restaurant had a vast selection of food, we really enjoyed the local dishes for breakfast and dinner. The food at the jerk hut was okay...the jerk chicken was not very spicy which... We stayed end Nov beginning Dec 2011. There is a great many good things to say about the Riu Palace, staff, rooms, bars, specialist restaurants especially Fusion and the manager Samuel!!! The beach is fabulous with clear water and a gentle slope. Overall we would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday. We went primarily for our... More

It is a cold and snowy day in Baltimore, MD so I am updating past trips. We stayed over Easter week in April 2009. Good stuff... The weather in April was absolutely perfect. The beach was beautiful and so was the water...the jerk chicken from the beach grill was fabulous, but watch for bone shards as they hit the chicken... More

We had a group of 18 stay from Dec 30 - Jan 6th 2012. The staff, hotel and beach are totally amazing. The food was low on most days espically the lunch buffet (either burnt or empty plates) staff arguing behind the counter and wait lines to be seated for lunch. Had lunch one day at the sister hotel Riu... More

We did not particularly want to return here after last year's unsatisfactory stay, but the elderly member of our party has limited mobility and the beach at the Riu is very firm so she can walk on it independently. It is also absolutely gorgeous and because the hotel is located on some sort of inlet or bay, the water is... More
