Hotel's Favourite
HOTEL - So beautiful and clean the view as you walk from the lobby to the pool area Is breathtaking. Two pools , one with a swim up bar leading straight off to a beautiful Sandy beach. The rooms were gorgeous and very clean and spacious, cleaned every day if you wish. FUN - if you want a lively atmosphere the Montego Bay and Reggae are the better hotels , they party all day and night and a lot more busy . We saw some wild pool parties at the Montego Bay one day . The Palace is more chilled out and quiet day and night! FOOD - well this is our only complaint .. A la carte restaurants were not open every night which is very disappointing given that this is a Premium hotel and we payed a lot of money to stay there. The steak house was only open twice a week which I think is not good enough!! The buffet was ‘OK’ but we found that the buffets in the Reggae had a lot more choice so spent a lot of time eating there .. again disappointed given that hotel wasn’t Premium like the Palace. Think this need rectified and their A La carte restaurants had a better mini choice too . Not good at all! ENTERTAINMENT - NOT GREAT .. again the Reggae and Montego Bay hotels had big stages with the best entertainment , all we had was. Pool Bar and some nights we didn’t have any entertainment to the standards we’d expect for the Palace! ANIMATION TEAM - Amazing people so friendly and work really hard to make your holiday the best . Sparky was just superb that boy has so much energy and entertained everyone day and night! His dancing skills are amazing!! Slims, Lady T and Funsize too great girls and so friendly! Lastly .. LIFEGUARD ‘Audley’ .. what a lovely hardworking friendly young man he deserves a mention! Put in in the review that he is very a very happy guy , 1 in a million! he knows how to deal with guests very good. we will be back to the resort very soon just because of that guy he told us a lot of good things about the island and the riu resort. We need more people like him .

The RIU Palace Montego Bay was fantastic. Below are me review comments: The resort overall: The cleanest I have ever been. (We've travelled a lot) The public washrooms from the lobby - right to the sandy beach were always clean and fresh. There were no drink glasses, straws, napkins or garbage laying about. As a result - no rodents, birds, or insects to be found. Beautiful grounds, well kept and no seaweed in the week were were there. The Hotel Rooms: Perhaps a little outdated...very purpley..LOL. However....so clean. Cleaned everyday unless you kept your sign (DND) up. And towels refreshed twice with lovely turndown service each evening. They could use better lighting but that's just being nitpicky. The food and Drink: We spent the 1st 3 days going to the restaurants - no reservations, but often you were 2nd seating. No biggie as you get a buzzer which works ALL over the resort. I wish we had started with the buffet. It was awesome and we didn't even try 2 of the restaurants. Carving station, sushi, Italian, Jamaican, desserts, ice cream...etc. Honestly more food than you will ever try in a week. It's not Michelin Star....but it's a resort and Buffet. It's as good as it gets. The drinks were good. The premium lacked a little...but honestly there was lots to choose from and the bartenders knew every drink I threw at them and more. Bring an insulated cup and plastic straw (If you do straws) it makes a big difference. Entertainment and Activities Team: These guys were MACHINES - the very best I've seen. There were 3 main guys and a fabulous DJ (Fun-Fun) - Spark, Black Panther and Spiderman (Kitty) These guys would arrive each day at the resort like a FORCE. They can get a smile and a laugh from every age and gender. I saw an 80+ year old man hula hoop! they are there for 12 hours a day keeping the guests entertained. The evening Entertainment was fun and I consider all three resorts in this as you can go to all three, whenever. There's a white party that is HUGE with costumes and dancing great fun. There's a foam party mid day, a silent dance party with headphones, bingo everyday with prizes (Trust me...the entertainment makes it interesting) Live Reggae Bands morning and night...etc...etc. and Finally: THE STAFF: "You arrive as guests and leave as family". (Dr. Phil said it best) The Jamaicans are warmest people I have ever met. They truly care about making sure you are happy and helped. Vanessa, Jilisa, Kay Ann, Danae, Ian, Trisha, Nikki, Dr. Phil., Winston, Claudia (Assistant Manager) These people work hard. I saw difficult customers give many of them a run, and they did it with patience because they care. Same service, with or without a tip. BUT - Tip them people...they deserve it. I loved Jamaica...but the people made the trip. We'll be back. :)

I went to celebrate my 55th birthday, Jamaica has always been my dream vacation spot and it didn’t disappoint. My suite was I think the best in the resort. And the staff were so professional and friendly. This will be a regular vacation spot for me and my friends.

60th birthday celebration for my friend. Paid for an ocean front room with 2 beds. Upon arrival was told ocean fronts only have 1 king size bed. Wanted us to sign a paper to downgrade without refunding the difference of a garden room . The other person just paid for another ocean view room and we worked out the difference. While in the room I noticed a small chip in the glass on the nightstand. Should have taken a picture because the next day I sat a glass of water on it and it cracked. I immediately informed the front desk. They had the manager Raymond come to speak to me. Very rude and abruptly said to me, it may have been an accident but you have to pay 30.00 for the damages. I said I could have checked out of the room and left it without saying anything and one of their employees could have been blamed for it. After paying, saying thank you, the manager still wanted to explain why it was my fault. The way I was treated by him I will never forget the way he made me feel. After that all of the negative feelings about this resort I was willing to let go came to the front of my mind. From cat infested areas around the buffet, watered down drinks, sub par food, rock hard beds and average brand alcohol . DO NOT PAY your money to be treated poorly

This was probably the worst place I have ever stayed in. The service was appalling, the rooms were not cleaning, the taps in bathroom were falling apart, the drain was just a hole in the sink, there was condensation in the cupboards which ruined my clothes and electrical hair appliances. When I raised my concerns I was not taken seriously, my shoes were covered in mould from the condensation in the wardrobe over a period of 3 days. The only positive I have is the all inclusive food was not bad at all, you will find something to eat even if you’re a fussy eater.

We just got back from a wonderful stay at the Riu Palace Montego Bay, and my only word is...fantastic! From the moment we arrived, until when we left, it was fantastic. The staff are exceptional! Nothing is too much, although we are very low maintenance. The food was way better than I had expected, and the specialty restaurants were all great. The pool staff really tries to keep thinngs lively, and their energy is contagious. We did one excursion for a sailing/ snorkeling trip that ended at Margaritaville, and it was a great day. The ability to utilize the adjacent resorts is a nice perk also. This was my first trip to Jamaica, and it's my new favorite place!
