Detailed Reviews
The owner was extremely helpful during difficult times in March 2020. The views from the room are beautiful, the garden well kept. Breakfast was served at the table. We got recommendations and all we needed to make our stay as easy as possible. The area is very calm, not touristy like other nearby neighborhoods, including a mostly deserted long wild beach.

Stephanie who worked the front desk was amazing! She gave great check in instructions because we arrived after 10pm. The room was big, spotless, plenty of hot water and water pressure, quality bedding and beach towels, coffee service in room, refrigerator and microwave in room. Housekeeping was amazing - perfect daily services. Pool was nice- but not heated, so cool in April. Only downside is that our room was next to the kitchen so we heard everyone at breakfast. The walls are a little thin, but everyone was mostly quiet and respectful of noise. Not a big deal to us because we had activities scheduled and we’re not sleeping in, but if you want to sleep in, you need a room away from breakfast area.

Boutique hotel, friendly staff. Lucille was so helpful with information and checking bookings with our car hire and restaurants in the area. Rooms lovely and comfortable. Beautiful views. Our room opened up to one of the pools (shared with the room next door) Would definitely recommend, suitable for couples or families.

We have stayed in boutique hotels around the world and this little gem is definitely among the best. Located just a few minutes from St. Francois, it’s perched on the top of a bluff so has spectacular views. Short drive into St. Francois for restaurants and central to many of the sites and beaches in Grand Terre (eastern side of Guadeloupe). The customer service is truly exceptional led by Lucile (who is fluently bilingual) and her staff. They are generous in sharing their knowledge of the island and suggestion for restaurants and daytrips. The hotel itself is immaculately clean, well laid out rooms, lovely balcony, comfortable bed, quality linens, good a/c, delicious breakfasts, beautiful pool area. We stayed 5 nights and Hotel Amaudo ticks all the boxes for what a quality boutique hotel should be. Highly recommend!

Hotel Amaudo has still a spectacular view, 2 beautiful pools and very nice and helpful attendants at breakfast. We have been very loyal to them since 2016 and went every year except during the pandemic. Unfortunately this year, we had a poor experience. We made a reservation for a Premium room for 2, which means large room with large bathroom. We always choose this category, and in the past years, we always enjoyed a beautiful room with a king size bed and a sitting area, and a sizable bathroom. This year, we were assigned a small room with a very small bathroom with the toilet almost in the shower, at the price of a Premium room. And the gutter outside was just in front of our room, it was very noisy because of the strong tropical rain at night, not mentioning that the trash bins for the hotel were on the side of this room. The front desk was totally unresponsive: “ they could not reach out to the management” and “ the management decided it was considered a Premium room”or “you did not ask for a specific room number”. We felt cheated and we won’t go back. We just advise guests making a reservation to be very clear they don’t want room 11 and if you want a Premium room, ask for room 12 or 14 or for a additional few dollars an even bigger room, room 15 and you should have a bliss.

We had a lovely experience here. The view speaks for itself and the staff made sure all our needs were met. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The shower had great pressure and the outside porch with the refrigerator was perfect.
The breakfasts were fresh and delicious. Most importantly the concierge was very helpful with ideas of things to do and made sure all our needs were met. It was a great week.

Having read all the reviews of this hotel I was expecting great things. And some were absolutely incredible.
The rooms and the setting of this hotel is outstanding and very little compares to anywhere else Ive stayed. However i was underwhelmed by the breakfast and the lack of general facilities ie getting lunch or a drink on site. Everything like this required a 3 mile journey which become an inconvenience.
I eventually became to realize this place as the most beautiful apartment you could ever stay in. But a hotel, as i understand them, this it’s not.

Extraordinary hotel with excellent service. The staff is very friendly and professional. Attentive to detail.
We liked the hotel so much that we ended up staying 2 more days instead of going to another hotel.

This is simply one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.
Room with balcony overlooking the sea was fantastic. The grounds are also beautiful with an infinity pool with a view to match any hotel in the world.
Staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. When we return to Guadeloupe we will definitely stay here again.

What an unbelievable hotel with truly amazing views of the sea. The decor, food, ambiance and professionalism of the team is first rate. The best hotel we've ever stayed in, around the Caribbean. You need a car to explore this island. Honore was a buzz to see where they film " Death in Paradise". I don't think it's shown in France We stayed here a few weeks ago and had to experience lock down in Guadeloupe. Lucile was so caring, understanding and helpful towards us with this global disaster that undoubtedly will hit the business. In the the words of a famous actor " We will be back"

Dear Customers,
you will 45 min to come to our place and maybe more depends of trafic especially in high season (start middle of December until end of April)
Itinary from the airport
At the exit of the airport, take the national road towards
- Pointe-a-Pitre
- The Gosier
- Saint Anne
At the exit of Sainte-Anne follow the Nationale towards Saint-François
At about 8 km from Sainte-Anne, 5 km before Saint-François, you will cross
A place called "Blonval". At the exit of "Blonval" just after the stop
Bus, leave the national and
Take on the right the road direction "Anse à la Barque". A first panel
Hotel Amaudo tells you the direction.
Almost at the end of this road about 1 km, just after a turn,
Especially do not take the left "tourist road" but 100 meters more
Take the small road to the right. We are located 300 meters
Further left on the seafront.
Warning: About 6 km after Sainte-Anne, do not turn right
"Séo-Anse à la Barque" direction indicated at the same time as
"Stones and holidays", stay on the national road and continue approximately 2 km until Blonval.
I’m sure you will find us!
Pleasure to help you
Lucile
Hello,
My girlfriend and I traveled all over Guadeloupe when we were there (circled the island more than a few times). Destrelland is around a 45 minute drive away (timing could increase due to traffic, which will depend on when he plans to leave from Hotel Amaudo)
Hope this helps.
-Michael
fruit, coffee, pastries, eggs and juice provided daily in the morning on the terrace overlooking the sea. We rented a car and drove between 15 minutes and an hour to the beaches only on the right side of the island. We loved ALL the beaches, snorkeled and swam...
We were unable to get aboard a boat tho, because we did not reserve that in advance and were only there 3 whole days in January.
Hi Anushka, There is a small beach (more like a cove) down a steep path at the foot of the hill below the hotel. Pretty slippery path, so be careful; or you may take the main road. For a much better beach experience, take a five minute drive to the St. Francois beach, or a 10/12 minute drive to the St. Anne beach.
As a side note, you should definitely go to the Marche Nocturne (night market) at the center of St. Francois. Great fruits, veggies, and local cuisine.
Have a great trip.
i have no idea but you can e-mail the hotel and they will certainly know!
