Detailed Reviews
I spent a week at Studio Aloes together with my wife. Our overall opinion was positive. We really appreciated the view of the ocean and Marie Galante from the veranda. Great place for long breakfasts. And we also thought that the small beach and lagoon was very beutiful. We found pretty good snorkelling just some 20-30 metres from the beach. The apartment was recently renovated and had all the amenities we wanted. All in all, it was a great place for us - who really needed some resting time - to just relax, get some sun and do nothing. With 50 metres to the restaurant and the beach, we had pretty much everything we needed within reach.
On the negative side, we were suprised to find out that the area contained so many appartments. From the web-page, we got the impression that there we would be one main building and maybe a couple of dozens of appartments. But instead, there were some 450 appartments sharing the same area. This meant that the beach and lagoon got pretty crowded in the afternoons. Also, we felt that the location was a little too isolated for our needs. When we got tired of just hanging at the beach and wanted to go somewhere, we always needed a car. Considering the dense traffic situation in Guadeloupe, we would have preferred to be able to put the car aside sometimes. But this, we learned, is the case pretty much regardless of where in Guadeloupe you live.
Some recommendations for stuff to do in the area: If you like surfing, Le Moule some 20 - 30 minutes by car offers some good waves. Not to far from Le Moule, there is a sugar factor (Gardel) which offers pretty interesting guided tours, Pointe des Châteaux offers very nice nature and views. From what we heard, the island of Petite Terre outside of St Francois has some excellent snorkelling with lemon sharks, sea turtles, barracudas and rays being common. We never got the opportunity to go though, because when we found out and tried to book a trip there, all the boats were fully booked (only a limited number of people get to visit the marine national park each day) for the next seven days (and we didn´t have that much time left on the island). So be sure to book this well in advance!

This place is not an hotel.
You have to rent an appatment.
This place is very big. A nice private beach with the biggest pool in Guadeloupe.
The condo was small but recently renovated.
The temperature was really warm not too hot. The currency is the euro.
A car is a must. The rent is cheaper if it's local. Rent your car before you arrive,
it's much cheaper.
We loved that place. There is a lots of appartments.
La Guadeloupe is a french department (France ). Many french people spend their winter vacation. But we talked with many english canadians and americans families.
The is no restaurant in that gated comunity.
But if you go in the village of St-François.
You will be well served.
We spend 75 days at L'Anse des rochers and we don't regret one single day.
We are planning of going back next winter.I highly recomend that place.

We rented a unit/studio in the Residence Anse des Rochers near St. Francois and are happy we did. The residence is a gated community, so no strangers there. The units are located in the buildings facing the pool and the beach. The pool is huge and very well kept, you need to have a key and wear a bracelet to use the pool. The beach is just, literaly, few steps away; it is small but very nice. There is also a very good restaurant, Ti Coco, at the beach. The restaurant isn't cheap, but the service, quality and variety of food are impressive. We spent a week at Anse des Rochers and wish we could stay longer. Of course, every unit/studio belongs to a different owner, so different people might have had slightly different experiences depending on the quality of each particular studio. Our studio was OK, not great, but it had everything we needed, besides, we didn't spend much time inside anyway and the price was very reasonable.

We stayed 5 night in the studio Alizée. This one has a direct ocean view and seems to be pretty newly renovated. The sleeping room is only separated from the terrace with the living room and kitchen by huge windows. It is a bit difficult to see whether these are open and closed, after the first evening we put some tape on them not to bump into them...
The kitchen is fully equipped, hence we always made our own breakfast but there is also a café on the beach (app. 50 m away) where you can grab some breakfast.
The only downside is the parking situation. We have been there in the high season (over New Year's eve) and in the evenings it is difficult to find a parking spot near the studio, it sometimes takes a bit of time to find a spot which sometimes is a bit further away than ideal.
The beach is really close with nice sand and a calm sea, it is really clean and not overcrowded.

Private apartment with lovely views. 2 minute walk to small but beautiful private beach with beach bar and restaurant (nice but highly over-priced, you are paying for the location and view rather than the food). Everything was good but I would suggest that you do need a car and also the Studio is up a very short (50m) but quite steep hill and steps so not ideal for less agile people. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation though. Finally, the owners were very helpful.

We are a family (with two kids 3 and 7 years) and we spent some days in the apartment called “Le Ti Paradise” (it is an area with individual apartments, which you can rent). You need definitely a car to get there and also for excursions (there is no public transportation and I do not recommend bicycles – crazy car drivers, steep roads and to hot). The apartment resort area is big, but you can get everywhere by foot. The pool is beautiful – a very big swimming pool with splendid view of the sea, also a little pool for the small kids, enough seats with some in shade. The beach is small, but big enough for the residents. The beach was never crowded in April and the only noise where our kids playing in the sand. There are possibilities to snorkel around the rocks (well, the reef is dead due to the French tourist touching everything and taking the corrals out of the water. I have seen some French doing this and when I tried to explain them what they do; there was no understanding, maybe because lacking the education in protecting the nature). The apartments are all different. Ours was nice with beautiful views, as it was a little bit uphill. I would come back next time. It is also a good location to visit the surrounding area of this very nice island.

I hesitate to write this because I hate to disclose our wonderful new vacation secret. We stayed at this lovely accommodation over the holidays and couldn't have been happier. Betty and Francois met us upon arrival and provided a tour of the property, before taking us to our unit. Our place was immaculate: a bedroom with updated bathroom and a lovely lanai whose shutters open to become open air. The kitchen is fully appointed and we found a wonderful welcome punch in the refrigerator. The beach is a two minute walk - and can be viewed from the lanai. It is lovely. Even tho we were there over Xmas and New Years, the beach was never too crowded and we always found a shady spot - even though there are a number of other buildings owned by people other than those who own Domaine Du Lagoon Many we met who were renting places not affiliated with our owners, while loving the location, the beach and pool in this complex, were not as happy with their units - describing them as dated and not as well appointed. The beach restaurant is not open - someone remarked that they had heard the owner is now sick. What a shame - it looks beautiful. But a nice food truck comes by often - particularly on the weekends - just in time for lunch. I know others complained about the parking situation. Again, we were in residence over the holiday week, and while the parking was completely full, we always found a convenient spot. about the parking Betty and Francois provided sound suggestions for restaurants and excursions. Saint-Francois is less than 10 minutes down the road. Also if there is anything you feel that your unit is missing, tell Betty and she will remedy it quickly!

The apartment "Studio Cannelle" overlooking the beautiful bay and the sea was simply perfect. The whole flat was in a new condition, we felt home instantly. The facility with a pool, a tennis court, a wifi area, a private beach and a small restaurant (which serves fresh bread in the morning) was in very good shape and cleaned almost daily. The controlled entrance gate provided for an additional feeling of safety. Gregory, our contact on site, helped us patiently and friendly with all our special needs and wishes.
The long and the short of it: it was simply perfect!
