We stayed there as a last option to have a bed for our night. We got off the airport in the afternoon and found out that our apartment reservation was fake! After calling and spending time trying to figure out what to do, where to stay and report the fake apartment, we had to sleep somewhere nearby. This was the cheapest place that also had a front desk open 24hr (we checked in at near midnight). The room was very big, comfortable and clean beds and towels. Water was shut off for a few hours during the night so we did not have time to brush our teeth. Breakfast was really nice, buffet style, lots of French pastries, fruit and others. We paid just below $300 for the night, which is technically way over our budget but it was nice to find them open in the middle of the night after spending countless hours of calling and looking for the property that we paid for that did not exist.

I went for a weekly stay in order to meet family, without great expectations and a bit worried from some reviews. I found this week quite enjoyable in spite of a few shortcoming in maintenance. The hotel seems to work through a slow reno and there are a number of details that can be improved. Still I would go again as I enjoyed the great location by the sea ( although the sargassos spoil the beach) and one of the greatest pool I have ever seen. The ground level rooms with the pool view are great for the view and the covered patio provides shade and shelter from the occasional rain . The rooms are spacious with a suite. The bathrooms are not all 100% but with 2 of them its OK.. with a small fridge and wifi, patio doors and well manicured grounds, the pool is meters away. Daily room service is fine although a bit parsimonious on supplies but satisfactory. There is plenty of hot water and good air conditioning in both rooms Breakfast is plentiful and staff renews continuously the supply of a buffet I found all the staff very helpful and friendly. They also arranged airport transportation for 70 Euros which I appreciated given the heavy traffic and cost of car rental. The location close to the marina affords dozens of restaurants of all styles and costs as well as grocery stores and shops.

Ok. I will get the 'negatives' out of the way first. The hotel is a little 'tired' and in some parts in need of updating and the four star rating is questionable, but my wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. We don't usually do hotels, preferring to self-cater and the price we paid was similar to small apartments we have rented elsewhere. Our beach-front suite comprised a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with hexagonal bath, a separate shower and WC and a large sitting room, with verandah leading onto the small private beach. It was freshly painted in white, felt homely and a little rustic. Air conditioning was efficient if a little noisy. The apartment was cleaned, bed linen and towels changed every day. As expected, there was only breakfast served at La Cocoteraie, but there was a good range of options. There are plenty of places to eat just five minutes walk away at the Marina, so the lack of a restaurant on site was not a problem. We had no problems with cockroaches as mentioned in another review, just a few visiting mosquitoes. The geckos who came inside were rather talkative! There have been criticisms posted that English isn't spoken at this hotel. The staff we met over our two week stay all responded to my schoolboy French in English. The only people we met who did not speak English were the cook and maid. Note that Guadeloupe is technically part of France and English speaking tourists are the exception, so get your phrase book out and remember you are not in England or America! Just a suggestion for the management. Please put a kettle, cups and some cutlery in the room. It's nice to make a coffee in the morning! A bottle opener/corkscrew would be good also, since your bar is closed and we had to bring our wine back from the supermarket! All together though, a nice, relaxing place to stay, just don't expect The Hilton!

As long as you don’t want pristine, probably characterless, facilities and are prepared to put up with and even enjoy the odd crack and quirk, then this place is great. We love our room (one bedroom, one bathroom -wonderful sexagonal bath which fills quickly with plenty of hot water available - and a charming sitting room off the equally charming balcony. The fridge is small and effective ( no mini bar). We overlook the beach, moored yachts, kite and wind surfing. The beach feels like they must have been in other areas before the vast hotels came and hydrogenised them: i.e.charming. Everything is freshly painted white. The architecture is fab. The swimming pool is one of the most attractive I’ve seen. The restaurant is really only for breakfast now - though they will serve sandwiches from 12 noon to 8pm. But who needs a hotel restaurant when there are so many absolute gems nearby?? And the walk is all of between 4 and 20 mins. No distance. The breakfast is good though the service slow. Doesn’t bother us. We like it here!

We stayed at the hotel in February 2018 for one night. It was really really terrible experience. Hotel needs complete renovation asap and new management .This is definitely not a 4 star and for sure is much much overpriced. Our group had 3 rooms and 2 of them have big cockroaches. This is very unprofessional and non-hygienic and dangerous for people health. I also appeal to the managment for thinking about putting nets on bathroom shutter as there are no windows. The bar was closed during our stay. It looks like it’s closed for a while. No trace about restaurant. Only pure breakfast was served. Rooms have refrigerator but they are completely empty. It felt like an abandoned hotel. There were no stuff around. Also people do expect that in 4 star hotel all receptionist (also those working afternoon) will speak basic English.
