Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An incredible host and staff, super friendly and full of great suggestions for our stay. Gives a great feeling of being all alone in the countryside, silent, surrounded by nature. The bungalow is really spacious and has all the necessary, though the kitchenette could be cleaner. However, we did not enjoy the two meals we ate there and the breakfast could use a little variety.

This is a small quaint establishment with on-site owner Michel there to greet guests upon arrival and for dinner. Little bungalows are very comfortable and include an outdoor kitchen which is customary in Guadaloupe. The French chef at the restaurant prepares wonderful meals that are moderately priced. Desserts are really good too! The hotel is close to several beautiful beaches near the point (tip) of the island. Staff at the hotel there are super friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again!

A choice guided by previous opinions.
Frankly and without exaggeration, this is the place to stay for your stay in Guadeloupe.
Everything is perfect, Michel welcomes you, and he knows how to entertain, the rooms and breakfasts are prepared with impeccable professionalism by Natacha. This hotel is a haven of peace like we rarely find.
The beaches are nearby, and in the evening it is possible to have your meals delivered by the catering service "Le Carolo", here too it is the icing on the cake, we eat next to the swimming pool to the song of the birds. In short, we found our hotel for our next stays.
Thank you Michel for this welcome and this knowledge of receiving

One-week stay in May in the Petite Terre room (which only has the name because inside it's huge!) which I can sum up in one word PARADISE!

Warm and friendly welcome by Michel. Thank you for your visiting advice and your availability.

The place is magnificent, relaxing and perfectly maintained.

Without forgetting Natacha who treats us every morning with a delicious and hearty breakfast and who takes care of us during our stay! Special mention for the homemade pancakes :)

Quiet environment, bordered by the sea and with lush vegetation.
I did the entire tour of Grande Terre during my stay because the driving distances from the hostelry are short for the different POIs.

I recommend it to all nature, hiking and snorkeling lovers!
Beach equipment and equipment (mask, parasol, freely accessible books)

Shops, restaurant, beaches, market within walking distance, and I also mention the caterer LE CAROLO for these delicious meals delivered directly to the terrace :)

I can't wait to go back :)
Anthony

When you arrive, a sign says "this is paradise"... 10 days later I confirm that it really is a dream place where the kindness, the welcome, the small, clean and well-air-conditioned residences , a 30 degree swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a copious and balanced breakfast, the little planter.... In short, a real Garden of Eden. A big thank you to Michel and Natacha for all of these services...

A haven of peace for this human-sized hotel with a top-notch boss as well as Natacha.
Second stay here and not the last.
Very comfortable and spacious room.
Very generous and quality breakfast. The absence of a restaurant is compensated by the offer of a caterer and the provision of crockery and microwaves.
In summary, an exotic stay and to be recommended.
If there were a downside, I would suggest adding pillows to the room.

An exceptional stay, in a heavenly place.
On a human scale, this Inn with its magnificent individual chalets offers a break in time.
The welcome of Michel (the Owner) and his wise advice helped make our stay unforgettable.
We also thank Natacha for her kindness and attention, an authentic gem.
We will return very quickly and naturally we highly recommend this Inn!

Thanks to Michel for his kindness and availability.
I recommend this establishment for its location, the comfort of these bungalows and rooms.
Everything is perfect.
No more restaurants but Michel will be able to point you to some that are more than recommendable.
I would come back and give him publicity, he deserves it.

We stayed for 2 weeks at this lovely little hotel and cannot praise it highly enough. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and spacious with bathrooms and toilets that really worked, with plenty of hot water. We had a bungalow with its own kitchen, but the rooms in the original house were just as good.
The patron, Michel, was a delight, being welcoming and helpful at all times. For British guests, there is the added bonus that he speaks excellent English, which is not something that you find on the island. Be warned - whilst the guide books may say that some English is spoken in the larger tourist areas, this is an exaggeration. It is very much a French island, and quite rightly, French is the language used by everyone, so a working knowledge of the language is pretty much essential.
The hotel restaurant is also excellent. Chef does a wonderful job, and for Guadeloupe the prices are reasonable. Do try the crayfish - a wonderful dish, and make every meal go with a swing with a 'ti punch aperitif. I should also mention all Michel's "girls", who help to make the hotel run so smoothly and keep it clean - their jollity was a joy.
The hotel is quite remote, but you can walk to beaches if you wish. Having said that, a car is essential for the entirety of your visit to be able to get to the lovely nearby town of St Francois and to explore both the islands. Both have plenty to offer in terms of sightseeing.
I would recommend this destination to anyone. French culture,Caribbean vibe, and a quite outstanding hotel.

If you're among the myriad Americans who love France, the French language, and French food, we strongly encourage you to consider Guadeloupe and the lovely Hostellerie des Chateaux as a winter getaway. You'll be in a tiny minority -- Guadeloupe's tourists are overwhelmingly European -- but you'll enjoy glorious uncrowded beaches, gorgeous rainforest, and some of the best food in the Caribbean. Hostellerie des Chateaux is a small (eight units) complex, east of St-François and just west of the tip of the island. For 110 euros a night, we got a spacious bungalow with a kitchenette and private terrace, excellent breakfasts (the homemade yogurt flecked with local vanilla bean was a real treat), and access to a superb outdoor restaurant/bar and beautiful large swimming pool. After exploring the towns, beaches, and rainforests of Guadeloupe all day, it was heavenly to return to this tropical French enclave. The owner of Hostellerie des Chateaux, Michel, is a welcoming, knowledgeable Swiss host who speaks excellent English (but indulged our fractured French because we wanted to practice it). If you want to get away from all-inclusive resorts and cruise-ship hordes, Hostellerie des Chateaux is for you. Vive la différence!
