Detailed Reviews
On the positive side, the hotel is walking distance to plenty of restaurants, the marina and the golf course. Hotel staff is attentive. Buffet breakfast has freshly squeezed juice, fresh flaky croissants, cafe au lait and more. Rooms are quiet and small.
On the negative side, unlike the pictures, the hotel is not on the ocean. Closest beach is a 10 minute walk. The hotel did NOT respond to emails.

Found this hotel after a cancelled reservation at La Creole a few days earlier. We were turned off by the lack of beach but once we mapped it we realized we were still pretty close to a couple. Thanks to Trip Advisor I found the best rate on the actual hotel website. Booking was simple and we saved over $500 by changing to this hotel so we were good to go, or so we thought! We had also booked a roundtrip transfer to and from Le Raizet airport. We arrived via Norwegian Airlines(non-stop) at around 6:15pm local time. We waited around for about 40 mins for someone to show up with a sign as other hotels had done with their guests. No one arrived. Luckily I took IB French as a high-school student so I was able to call and speak with a gentleman who did not speak English. Through broken French and horrible conjugation we were able to communicate that I was waiting for the shuttle and no one came. Eventually Leila(who is a SAINT in my book and who is one of probably three employees who speaks English) advised me to just get a taxi. Once we arrived (90 euros later-yes they price gauge like crazy for tourists but it was a Mercedes so we went with it :)) at the hotel. Leila greeted us and immediately took care of taking the shuttle cost off of our reservation. She explained that the parent company is in France and could not accommodate such a last minute reservation prior to our arrival. Approaching the hotel, we saw plenty of stores, a couple of casinos and other store fronts that were brightly lit. The entrance to the hotel is in a strip-mall type of area so we didn't even realize we had arrived. We got a choice of a couple rooms and took the second floor, pool facing room. The room was clean, cute furnishings(as shown in the pics online) and had everything we needed for a comfy stay. The tv had 20 or so channels(we found only one English-speaking channel, CNN), the air conditioner worked very well and the bed was ok. We also received welcome drink vouchers so we cashed those in after we settled. Over the next few days we enjoyed the breakfast(bacon, sausages, eggs and plenty of breads and fruits. Also multiple choices of coffee and tea). The pool was pretty quiet most days so plenty of time for relaxation and sun, minus the kids that apparently lived behind the hotel. One little kid had what seemed to be a real gun he was playing with which unsettled us a bit, but we got over it. Hotel was pretty quiet most days as well. There are plenty of little shops and restaurants in the area(its adjacent to La Marina) where we had many lunches and dinners including the most amazing lava cake at L'ardinier and pizza and Colombo Poulet(local creole chicken and rice-AMAZING) at Kamate. With my horrible French I was able to communicate to everyone we encountered. Leila helped out by getting us a taxi(Jean Jaques taxi service?) to the airport and even guided to some of the local landmarks which were all fun and very beautiful. We also used the same taxi service to get to Pointe de Chateaux and back. The bartender who served us was also amazing even though he spoke minimal English. Great drinks and very entertaining convos. We walked less than ten minutes down the road to the casino our last night. It is pretty small and had minimal digital/newer slots but it did have a great blackjack table and other games. It also had a bar with really cheap drinks but no music. We also found banks/atms, a grocery store, some tiny shacks that served local food and the office of tourism within five mins walk of the hotel. We definitely enjoyed our trip and Leila was integral to the success of the trip. Everyday she had a smile on her face as we asked so many questions and directions for our daily adventure. Our last night she sat with us and other guests and chatted about the people, the culture and our lives back home in America. We would return to this hotel just for her!! Also please be aware most guests and locals are French and they tend to stare. We were bothered at first but eventually got used to it. One English-speaking gentleman we met at the beach told us they can tell we are Americans and they don't see much of us there so no worries. My only con is the wifi. It was so spotty and you have to keep going to the front desk for tickets which made it annoying. Guadeloupe is an amazing place and we recommend Bwa Chik if you are ever there!

I struggled to find a hotel in Guadeloupe which would accept a stay of only one night. Most want at least 3 days and many a week during February. I was pleased when Bwa Chik said they would accept a one night stays, particularly as the night in question would be the night of St Francois annual Mardi Gras parade. We found the hotel easily enough on the edge of the golf course, and a block away from the marina, and two blocks vfrom the beach. There is no car park so you need to find a space on the road outside. The hotel is cool and modern with stylish bare wood and swirling white curtains. The lady at reception was friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Our room was at the rear overlooking a nice pool. (Some rooms overlook the road which may be noisier). The room was very clean and modern with all the amenities you'd expect from a good mid range hotel. It was a good size as was the balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was included and was a standard continental buffet affair. The hotel has a great location 5 minutes walk from the marina, town centre and beaches. My only gripe was the 160 Euro price per night which I felt a little expensive.

We stayed at Golf Marine in May 2006, for two nights only - thank god. The room and the bathroom is definitely very dirty, with hair and dust/dirt lying all over the place. If you pull the linen from the bed, you find unidentifieable dirt. For the price we paid (60 euros a night) we could put up with, but after two nights we were definitely more than happy to get out. Staff is friendly (if someone' there) though.

English is my first language. We were directed to stay at this hotel because the one we booked was overbooked. We very much enjoyed our stay even though we were in a different town. The Staff was very accomodating, expecially Nicole at the front desk.

I was traveling solo to go scuba diving around Guadeloupe and was very lucky to have found this very welcoming hotel. Bwa Chik is a short walk to Saint-Francois Marina where the dive shops are located. The hotel is also across the street from the golf course. The location is truly idéal for all activities in Saint-Francois.
The two hotel staff whom I encountered were very friendly and hospitable. The guy (I think his name is Ludovic) who also makes great cocktails is very nice and has an awesome attitude. The other lady at Front Desk (I think her name is Natalie) was also very warm and kind. Despite my inability to speak French, she made an effort to communicate with me- both of them also gave me gréât restaurant recommendations.
I stayed in a wonderful duplex that was so clean and well-appointed overlooking a tee. It was nice to wake up in the morning and watch golfers teeing off, while drinking coffee from my balcony. I wish there are more hotels offering these type of rooms that are 2-stories where the beds are located on the loft level. I loved the eco-chic decor, the spaciousness and cleanliness.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Saint-Francois!

My husband and I took a last-minute trip to Guadeloupe, and planned nothing before our arrival. A sweet girl at the café we stopped in gave us excellent recommendations, one of which was staying at Bwa Chik. They had availability, allowed us to extend our stay when we decided we loved St Francois, and we're always accommodating. The front desk was very helpful in making and changing plans throughout our stay, and the grounds are quiet and enjoyable. Excellent wifi (ever important for the non-planners that we were), great breakfast, and nice pool (though we never used it-the beaches are so close!!), and so close to the marina. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I loved our stay at Bwa Chik, a small boutique hotel located in Saint-Francois. I instantly fell in love with the chic and minimalist decor. It’s all wood and predominately white colors, creating a really chill and relaxing atmosphere.
Bwa Chik is located across the street from the Saint-François Golf. I don’t golf so I cannot give you my opinion of the course, but it seemed that a lot of the guests were regulars on a golf vacation.
The rooms are nicely sized and the beds were really comfortable. And they all have a balcony! The service was friendly and personal, and the property was overall neat and clean.
We had breakfast every morning on the patio. It’s a buffet with pastries (chocolate croissants are a must!), cereals, bread, ham, cheese, butter, jam, eggs, yogurts … You’ll definitely start the day right!
The building is planted in a tropical garden, with a swimming pool in the center.
Right outside the hotel, you have lots of shops where you’ll find beach clothes, local arts and crafts, postcards, etc. You’re also a few minutes by foot from the tourist office and a big grocery store.
The hotel doesn’t serve dinner but you can go to La Marina (about a 10 minutes walk) where you’ll find all sorts of restaurants: island cuisine, pizzeria, crepes , wine bar, ice cream, sea food, and plenty of places to grab a drink.
The hotel is also walking distance from a local market “le marché de la rotonde.” Every Wednesday night, you can try some local food and buy some local arts and crafts: rum, spices, clothes, baskets, bags, and home decor.
I’d warmly recommend this hotel; it’s the perfect place for a relaxing stay at an affordable price

The place is conveniently located at walking distance from the Marina, and other shops, bars and restaurants.
The room itself was somewhat ok, light bulbs were dysfunctional at our arrival and were replaced by a different shade bulb. Very awkward. Most annoying, dozens of crickets were screaming in the entire place for the whole night. If you want a calm and relaxing experience, or if you are hypersensitive to noise, honestly stay away, it's a true nightmare that never stops.

The room was quite small and basic, and had clean white bare walls with no decorations (perhaps recently repainted). There was a very small desk and fridge, but no space for any chairs or other furniture. The lights in the room were insufficient, and the desk lamp was broken when we arrived. We informed the staff at the reception and thought they would replace the broken one. But the next day nothing had happened so we talked to the reception staff again, who said something about later (we were not quite sure what she meant), so we went back to the room and brought the broken desk lamp down to the reception. Then after a short while they brought a new lamp to our room. The room was clean but the bed was not very comfortable. The room had a balcony that faced the garden and pool, which was an advantage as we were not disturbed by the traffic on the street in front of the hotel. Breakfast was included in the room rate, but fairly basic, for example only white bread, no wholegrain, and one day they did not have any yoghurt (they said it was not delivered that day), one day the bread arrived late, and sometimes birds came in to the area around the breakfast buffet, which was not very pleasant (some days they had towels over the bread baskets but some days not, which attracted the birds). The location of the hotel was very good, along a street with some small shops (and a large supermarket) only a few minutes’ walk from the marina and some small beaches, and it was a nice area for a stroll. There were some restaurants at the marina, but also along a few other streets nearby.
